Very similar to the Troubles of Northern Ireland. Very sad...

...socialism kills everywhere it comes.

Amen. For laughs, search for "socialism" on Wikipedia. Note how they conveniently removed Nazi Germany from the list of previous socialist governments. Also note how the hundreds of millions killed wherever Socialism has spouted are never mentioned.

Really? You’re claiming that this the result of long simmering ethnic and religous tensions? Are there non-Greek troops in Greece arresting Greeks and imprisoning them in their own homeland? The IRA, INLA and their ilk may be leftists revolutionaries but their “cause” is far different in origin than what’s going on in Greece.

In fact anarchists have joined the ranks fo the muslims - most of whom are illegally living in Greece thanks to EU rules.

BTW— the problems faced by Greece are half as bad as those faced by the US and the rest of the EU.

Public Order Minister Michalis Chryssohoidis, who was in his office a few yards (meters) away from the blast, said the package had been intended for him. Pale and visibly shaken, but otherwise unharmed, he told reporters he had "lost a valuable and beloved associate." ...police officer Giorgos Vassilakis, a 50-year-old father of two. But suspicion fell on radical Greek militant groups opposed to government economic and social policies.

People need to do some research on anarchism. From everything I’ve read it’s strikingly similar to Islam: terrorism, hate for all things western, hate for capitalism, hate for money, concepts of martyrdom, bombings and more.

Anarchists and Socialists are two different creatures. Anarchists ARE the useful idiots of the Socialists though.

From what I've read anarchists are the socialists who want communist revolution RIGHT NOW without state taking everything over.

In my experience a Communist government is the most restrictive centralized planning-type government around... Anarchists do not want ANY government. If they advocate Socialism or Communism they are not anarchists. I guess you could say they would be AINOs (Anarchists in name only).

This isn’t to say that the Socialists and Communists haven’t infiltrated their ranks. What better group to target than one that thinks it’s OK to go around smashing and breaking things? :) Their Agent Provocateurs probably LOVE it when they’re assigned that job! LOL

Anarchists are socialist actually. They just want socialism without the government like they think people will magically work together and get rid of capitalism. They are deluded.

I totally agree that they are delusional!!! Without at least some sort of government to deal with those who violate others’ natural rights it is fascism. They don’t see that the “strong” of the community would take advantage of the weaker ones. It would be a government by “might”.

People will ALWAYS create some kind of group structure. There can’t even ever really be COMPLETE anarchy! Even they themselves are ‘organized’ and have some system of agreeing between them what to do as a group. And they don’t even recognize THAT! LOL

Yeah, at least the communists know what they want. Anarchists are just stupid, or nihilistically suicidal.

Many early anarchists in the 19th and 20h centuries converted to islam. There is lotss of money in anarchy today and much of it is muslim.

“1 out of 3 Greeks are government employees”

I lived in Greece in 1988-1989, and back then it was said that 1 in 10 were getting social security or disability from America.

I don’t know if that number is anywhere near accurate, but in my time there we traveled all over, and many folks we did meet lived in the U.S. at one time or another and claimed to be getting some amount of cash from America. It was fashionable to talk about it once they found out you were American.

For one month I lived in Kato Patisia in Athens, and the couple I was staying with both worked for a town here in Illinois (I knew their kids, that’s who I was visiting), and both parents claimed they had received “on the job” chemical burns in their eyes, both from different incidences and were declared legally blind here in the US, thus they received disability. The parents could see fine and dandy, probably better than me. It was explained that there is a whole network of Greek doctors and specialists and lawyers to help them scam the system here. I would imagine many ethnic groups have resources like this as well.

BTW, the checks were sent directly to them they claimed, from the US to Greece. They didn’t have to have them forwarded. I’m not sure if they still can do that.

Greek peoples have long been known for their ability to milk a government or program, or find a loophole in any situation.

On that note, when we were in Athens, we of course wanted a Gyro. You couldn’t find one. Because they were outlawed. Even back then, 20 years ago, there was price control, and if a gyro costs 500 Drachmas no matter what, the vendors would add horse-meat, or rat carcass or anything they could to increase the profit. Therefore, mixed meats could not be sold by street vendors. The locals would even tell you, only buy “whole cuts of meat” and “never buy a mixed drink”, they didn’t even trust their own friends to treat them honestly.

Of course, the nicer Islands, like Rhodes and such were much different, but Athens was a pit of snakes.

I lived and worked in Greece 4 years and most of what you are writing here is pure unadulterated BS!

Most retirees living in Greece (or Poland or Mexico etc.) put in their time in US factories and businesses in the US. You must have been staying with the exception certainly not the rule.

Lots of fantasies there buddy. The gyro story is a hoot! You couldn't find a friggin gyro in all of Athens??? You must either be an imbecile or blind.

“blind.”

—No, that would have been the Greeks I was staying with.

“Most retirees living in Greece (or Poland or Mexico etc.) put in their time in US factories and businesses in the US. You must have been staying with the exception certainly not the rule.”

—I did say it was the exception, not the rule

“The gyro story is a hoot! You couldn’t find a friggin gyro in all of Athens???”

—You could, but the Greeks would fill it with horsemeat or whatever else they could to increase profit. The market near Olympus (the Athens Market) had several venders selling cooked meat. But it was thought you were a fool to buy anything from them. The only thing close to a Gyros you could get, was sliced Lamb, and that to me is a kabob, not a Gyro as I had become accustomed to in America.

Sorry to offend your Grecian values. If you are Greek or have lived there long enough as you say, you either know it to be true, or you are so hurt that someone dared say anything against your populace (Greeks can be very proud), that you wish to ignore it.

I stand by my words, and any Turk will back it up. Go light a car on fire and let out some aggression will ya?

Yassou
