Earlier this week, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) caused a stir when he was quoted saying that President Obama personally told him the administration will not support stricter border enforcement until Republicans back broad immigration reform. The White House denied the claim. Now Kyl is saying that's not what he meant.

This is supposedly Kyl’s new quote, from the article:
“He was talking about how they think that if we secure the border, you guys [Republicans] won’t have the incentive to work on comprehensive immigration reform.”
Doesn’t sound that different to me from what he previously said, which was:
“The president said the problem is if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform. In other words, they’re holding it hostage.”
I think the ComPost is up to its disinformation tricks.
Does anybody here believe that the President is allowed to go into a room with one other person and not be monitored and recorded by Secret Service, video and audio? I seriously doubt it.
Considering A 96.75 lifetime for 23 years, he's one of the best in the Senate.
Joe Wilson, Joe Barton, and now John Kyl.
What the hell is the matter with these Republicans? You’d think they were being threatened with death if they didn’t back down.
Perhaps they are...
The Chicago Way....becoming the DC Way.....
Kyl, of course, had a small spat with the White House last week over comments he made at a town-hall meeting. Kyl, responding to a voters question, detailed a recent one-on-one conversation he had with the president. They are holding [border security] hostage over hopes for comprehensive immigration reform, Kyl said at the forum.Kyl: Obama Did Not Consult on Border Funds
Kyl tells us that the comments were taken a bit out of context, and that the they he was referring to was the Left, the presidents base, and not the administration. I did not try to start a fight. This meeting happened a month ago and we were talking in the context of his political problems. He was talking about how they think that if we secure the border, you guys [Republicans] wont have the incentive to work on comprehensive immigration reform.
It's becoming our stock in trade.
Thanks
Instead hes saying that the left is peventing the administration politically from doing more to secure the border.
You mean Obama’s puppet master, George and co.
I agree completely with your assessment and had those on this thread actually READ the WAPO article we would not be seeing the hand wringing hysteria evident here.
That would be #3.
Unfortunately today just such a smear is not only possible, but believable. NO-body I know trusts any politicians - local State or FedGov. What has this Nation become? Franklin would weep - or start chasing skirt, dunno which....
I TOTALLY agree. We’re NOT ‘home-free’ in Nov. if they win.
