Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.
Salazar said in a statement that the new order will contain additional information making clear why the six-month drilling pause was necessary in the wake of the Gulf oil spill. The judge in New Orleans who struck down the moratorium earlier in the day complained there wasn't enough justification for it.
Salazar pointed to indications of inadequate safety precautions by industry on deepwater wells. "Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities."

no, we play softball...then apologize the next day for pitching too hard.
Chicago politicians.... accusing someone else of corruption? Well, ain’t that the pot accusing the stainless steel kettle of being black?
How dare some judge expect Der Furher to rule on basis other than “Sez me”!
The Constitution and rule of law is but toilet paper to our Lord Emporer, who rules by Divine Right.
There is nothing to like about Obastard. Nothing.
It would take millions of agents if everybody spoke their mind.
It's comin though, and they shall rue the day.
I think it's likely there are a few members who have already been in prison, though not reported. Thus, you musing should be, "Who will be the NEXT member of the Obama administration to go to prison?"
Keep diggin that hole. November is coming.
The article makes it sound likely that Judge Feldman is going to jail. Thugs have taken over.
nice
The EO practically allows him to be a dictator. It will take a 2/3 vote of BOTH houses of Congress to overturn any EO.
Based on what the judge said today, they would have to come in with some very precise info & request a moratorium limited in scope. Fox example, if it was determined that a flibberwidget on BP’s rig failed & all of the other rigs have or may have a similar flibberwidget, the court may find it reasonable to suspend drilling for a brief period to allow for inspections to be made & reports submitted to the courts.
My sense from today’s ruling is that he is looking for specificity that would be enough to override the staggering amount of economic harm that would be done.
IOW the govt has to show a compelling state interest that outweights the damage that will be done.
Not only that, George Soros stands to make billions off his $900 million investment in Petrobraz.
The feds destroyed Florida's tomato harvest season in 2008, costing growers, packers, etc. millions of dollars at peak of harvest due to a Salmonella outbreak. Eventually, the culprit was found to be jalapeno peppers from Mexico. No problem with the tomatoes that rotted in the packing houses.
It’s coming.
It’s coming.
You’re wrong. Deep water drilling accounts for 32% of our domestic oil production and 11% of domestic natural gas production. The moratorium would be very painful to all Americans.
I read somewhere that this could get “Ken Salazar” a contempt of court charge. He had his chance to make a case before the judge, and he did not do so. Now he is trying to go around the judge, and outright ignore the judges order. I am not a lawyer, but could this get Salazar thrown in jail?
November can’t come soon enough, yorkie. I hope it’s not too late.
I thought Obama’s inspectors were too busy downloading porn, playing golf, etc.
