Time author on CNN stated a WH source told him that McChrystal has submitted his resignation, but Obama has not yet accepted it.
Good for the man with the nads!
I would trust this man with my life.
Perhaps you know more about the subject than Col. Bracknell.
Apparently, that rule is not set in stone and they have and do criticized presidents in and out of uniform. Perhaps Col. Bracknell should rethink his position or you have misinterpreted it.
From this author’s profile of McChrystal, he seems to be a Mitch Rapp sort of warrior. (and so do the rest of Team America.)
Tomorrow will be a very interesting day in the life of McC and Obama.
LBJ was CIC for me. Obama almost makes him look good.
(now I’m going to wash my hands after typing that)
He may be able to do more good outside the military, being able to speak freely. He may be able to try and change the ROE or as I think of them, Rules of Unengagement. Winning in Kandahar will be very costly under them. Prayers for our troops, from top to bottom.
Anyone and everyone who voted for O or thought about it is an absolute NO.
Their ability to criticize the CIC is at the CIC’s discretion. Any time the officer gets too much notice the CIC can pull the plug. The way Obama handles McChrystal will signal how much hes willing to take from retired flag officers. If he bitch-slaps the General dont expect others to step up and go after him
Their ability to retain their retirement benefits and criticize the CIC is limited to what the CIC is willing to allow.
Like how he voted for him and loved him and still does?
Don’t expect McChrystal to start bashing Obama.
His book will expose the REGIME for what it is . . .
I thoroughly agree. As I stated in earlier threads, I think that McChrystal is the ‘Canary in Obama’s Afghan “coal mine”’.
I've seen this argument. They are hurt either way. By resigning, he shines a light on the administration. Otherwise, they continue to do what they do.
He's not the boss, so the only thing he can do is resign in protest.
I respect him if he truly did it for the troops, but he should have quickly realized that there was no hope.
The only places I could anything about that supposed Egyptian report a bout Obama supposedly saying he was a muslim were in blogs of questionable accuracy. One which may have been the original said the wife of the author saw it on “Nile TV.” Reuters etc are bad, but a bit more substantial than that.
McChrystal voted for Obama. I’m always amazed at the politics of some of these generals. As Rush stated today, “McChrystal is a warrior General rather than an administrative General.”
How can a warrior type General vote for Obama. Patton was a warrior and I’d like to think he would have never voted for the likes of zero.
I like the way you think!
I'd say YES. I believe he gave his interview first, so people would hear what he had to say before Oboma had a chance to demonize him once he handed in his resignation.
Yeah, I suppose some of these guys come from long time democrat union families.
If this was under Bush, they’d be throwing him a ticker tape parade by now.
