San Juan Mayor Jorge Santini, said today that he is in the process of verifying the allegations made by eight homeless men from New York who turned up in Old San Juan, and say that the mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, paid for their passage to Puerto Rico.
We had zero homeless people in Old San Juan and now we have eight, said the Mayor in an aside during a press conference announcing the inauguration of the Plaza de la Convalecencia in Rio Piedras. He said that the City has provided services to the men as if they were locals, although he mentioned that they only speak English.
If I can confirm that Bloomberg sent them to Puerto Rico, I will pay for their tickets and send them right back, said Santini, indicating that the men have spent about two months sleeping in the streets of Old san Juan.
We had zero homeless people in Old San Juan and now we have eight,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Maybe, he sent his homeless to NYC?????
Typical liberal; say anything, do anything.
I like it. Send all the homeless to Puerto Rico. Bloomberg is a genius!
Works for me

Come to think of it, we did send tens of thousands of our wretched poor to New York in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, my mother-in-law included.

I thought Bloomyberg wanted all the illegals....
This has been going on for a long time here in Hawaii. There are literally tens of thousands of ‘homeless’ in the parks, on the beaches, in the cities all around O’ahu. Frequently, Honolulu city officials will purge the ‘homeless’ from the tourist areas of Waikiki.
Admittedly, many are native Hawaiian who chose to be ‘homeless’ and collect the generous benefits the state provides, but many more are dumped on the island from the mainland.
Brainstorm - if Bloomie can send homeless to PR, why not deport illegals there along with a “Have A Nice Swim” card.
At least in PR they already speak the language.
I’m just sayin’...

If that were the case, it would be more than 8 people. The island may capsize!
New Yoricans, no doubt.
Uh, Puerto Ricans are US citizens, not illegals. Not seeing the connection.
