Contessa Brewer got a lot more than she was likely looking for when she interviewed Col. Jack Jacobs this afternoon about the McChrystal situation. The MSNBC host wanted to focus on the impropriety of McChyrstal publicly airing his criticisms of Pres. Obama and others in the chain of command.
But while the Medal of Honor recipient readily agreed that McChrystal was out of line, and would probably pay with his job, Jacobs also went out of his waytwiceto add an inconvenient truth: that when it comes to the substance of the criticism, most in the military think McChrystal "was right."

Unless he lied. Has he always been a Democrat? Is he a registered dem?
It sounds also like he puts his troop's safety above his prfessional future too. Unlike their CIC
Got me, but the fact that he voted for Barry tells me he is not doing his homework, or worse.
Poor Obama...not! Death by a thousand cuts. Keep em coming.
mcChrystal needs to tell Obozo to go to Hell.
“Got me, but the fact that he voted for Barry tells me he is not doing his homework, or worse.”
We don’t really know if he voted for Berry or anybody else for that matter just because he said he did.
He may not have voted at all seeing both choices were unAmerian.
I searched and can’t find out if he is a Dem, Repub or Ind.
And Article 88 of the UCMJ says they had better watch how they speak out.
Article 88 - Contempt toward Officials: "Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct."
Well, then he should have kept his mouth shut. So, he either lied about voting for Barry, or he told the truth. Both not good.
“Death by a thousand cuts.”
Maybe this is exactly how McChrystal envisioned things playing out. He loses the battle, but wins the war. He’s given other officers or soldiers a chance to say “Well, I can’t support his speaking out, but from the people I talk to in the military, most would say that he was right on the substance of what he said.” This type of statement isn’t insubordinate since all the person is doing is confirming that McChrystal should respect the chain of command and then reporting on a subjective impression without personally weighing in on whether McChrystal’s substantive comments were accurate.
On some level I agree with you.
At some moment he was ass kissing to get the job.
Unless he is just saying he voted for him. I can’t believe a man as obviously as smart as the Gen. would be so gullible.
Not only all that but “some people out there in our nation don’t have maps”
dingle berry
Does it really matter anymore if McChrystal was out of line in criticizing this pres__ent?
Nobody has respect for 0bama. Not the citizens, not the military, not our enemies, and not our allies. So the normal rules of protocol do not apply.
I have read the Rolling Stone article, and do not understand which “statement” of General McC’s is a violation of the USMJ 88.
Would you be kind to an old grannie, and point it out to me?
As opposed to her fresh, up to date, and (dare I say?) trendy bigotry!
