Aides to the top U.S. general in Afghanistan insulted some of President Barack Obama's closest advisers, calling one a "clown" and another a "wounded animal," in an article to be published Friday in Rolling Stone magazine.
The article also quotes an aide describing the commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan General Stanley McChrystal's "disappointment" with his initial one-on-one meeting with Obama last year.
Quoting all the McChrystal aides anonymously, the article portrays a split between the U.S. military and Obama's advisers at an extremely sensitive moment for the Pentagon, which is fending off criticism of its strategy to turn around the nearly nine-year-old Afghan war.
The Pentagon had no immediate comment about the article, which has been brought to the attention of senior officials.
It quotes a member of McChrystal's team making jokes about Vice President Joe Biden, who was seen as critical of the general's efforts to escalate the conflict and who had favored a more limited counter-terrorism approach.
"Biden?" the aide was quoted as saying. "Did you say: Bite me?"
Another aide called White House National Security Adviser Jim Jones, a retired four star general, a "clown" who was "stuck in 1985."
It quoted an adviser to McChrystal dismissing an early meeting with Obama as a "10-minute photo op."
"Obama clearly didn't know anything about him, who he was. The boss was pretty disappointed," the adviser told the magazine.

he screwed it up big time and cost precious lives.bring our people home.
So, is Rolling Stone going to be our new source of information that the MSM is covering up?
How bizarre.
But this seems to be their second attack on Obama in a very short time. First BPGate, and now this.
I have some ultra-liberal friends who hate Obama for what they consider to be his betrayal of the cause. They pretty much gave up on him last winter. Is this what is motivating Rolling Stone’s editors?
Never thought I would say it, but.....bring our troops home now!
They are just sitting ducks with this CIC.
I can see why some foreign nations have been overtaken by the military.
“This is bad though, that it’s come to the fore in the media.”
I was thinking similar thoughts as I read this. I’d bet a shakeup is coming soon.
Thank you for posting this. I, as many, have been experiencing technical diificulties.. it and other ppieces to follow. Hopefully , this one has legs. It has potential to adding more sizzle to the pan.. more oil to the grill.. uhh
I’m sure it’s all a simple misunderstanding, nothing a beer summit and clambake can’t fix,.. maybe a round of golf too.

My take from this is that the quotes are probably true, but the only reason they are releasing them is that the TRUE BELIEVERS in CHANGE (read: Lame Stream Media) are going to make any losses in The Stan look like the military’s fault for not respecting the CIC. To the liberals, this meets their need to make Odumbo look like a victim and give HIM PR power against any future military requests.
Obama's weakness in the presidency creates a leadership vacuum and the very existence of such vacuum encourages people up and down the chain of command to lose discipline...and talk.
And if we hear it in the press, we can bet that what we hear is just the tip of the iceberg.
Organizations that depend of leadership unravel when that ingredient is missing...and this is evidence of that. And if it is visible in the military, it exists in the civilian bureaucracies in spades.
Obama cannot command respect because he is a worm.

"Who ya call'n an idiot!?"
On a serious note, the terms “a clown” and “a wounded animal” are two descriptions so benign that I wouldn’t even consider them to occupy my armory of maledictions when referring to the marxists running the show.
One aspect of it will be that some will pretend that Her Thighness is superior to Ozero when really her positions are much the same.
But Clintonistas will be stuck because she (and the DLC) likes to pretend she is "moderate". However, the far left is presently sick of "moderates" so they are likely to shaft her too. They're in a mess.
"Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man." Samuel Adams
"The liberties of our Country, the freedom of our civil constitution are worth defending at all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have receiv'd them as a fair Inheritance from our worthy Ancestors: They purchas'd them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood; and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us without a struggle; or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men." - Samuel Adams
Wow. Rolling Stone and the Liberals are turning on Obama.
It’s bad enough that we have NATO weinies involved in this war but now we have Obozo in Chief.
This is going south.
I can't wait until Allen West is President. Jan. 2013 can't come soon enough!
Good to see you back in action.
Obama has done something I don’t think anyone thought possible. If you polled Republicans or conservatives close to 100% would gladly take either Clinton, Bill or Hillary over him right now.
Maybe Hillary will primary him but I doubt it. If she did, I think she’d win fairly easily.
