SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- It's a simple billboard, raising complicated questions. People advocating what they call "the right to die" brought their message to the Bay Area on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, a sign went up at the intersection of Howard and Van Ness. The six words on the sign costs $2,500 and it's getting a lot of attention.
Some people are going out of their way to read the billboard and many are taking a double take.
It reads: "My life my death my choice."
"I don't like the message, it reminds me of the suicide doctor, why, I don't know. Do we need this? I don't think we need this," says Peter Varga from San Francisco.

Who mentioned regulation?
This attitude of “it’s all about me” has brought America the obamanation...who is the poster picture of “it’s all about me”.
Because the founders of this country said that the protection of innocent human life is the most important reason for the existence of human government. They called the right to life "unalienable," which had a very specific meaning in European property law. It all belonged to the sovereign, and was only lent to the occupant by that sovereign. It couldn't rightfully be taken from you, and you couldn't rightfully give it away.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men..."
This is the first principle of America, upon which our republican form of government and our liberty are premised.
This is why suicide has always been illegal in this country. Your life belongs to God, who is the Sovereign, not to you. And the state, which in America means the sovereign people collectively, governing through their representatives and duly-appointed officers, has a sworn constitutional duty to protect that life, the life of every single individual.
By the way, throughout history, when this cornerstone precept is abandoned in human societies, all hell breaks loose.
Abandon the self-evident truth that all men are created, and created equal, and respect for innocent human life, the lives of those who are made in His image, is the first thing to go. And then liberty simply melts away in the wake of that folly. All of human history is a record of the truth of what I'm saying.
People who support doctor assisted suicide/eutanasia never address the issue of euthanasia without consent - aka “murder” which invariably happens when doctor asssisted suicide/euthanasia is legalized. There have been a spate of articles about this lately.
Anyone who wants can commit suicide right this very minute.
People who want the the stamp of legal approval from the government, what to speak of medical assistance, are the true nanny state meddlers.
Keep your death loving suicidal impulses private and no one will say anything. Trying to get the government involved, and calling it “private decisions” is sheer hyporisy.
They don’t want control over their own lives and deaths. They want to corrupt our legal and medical systems, putting the rest of us at risk.
That is what they “say” but what they really want is to decide when you have lived long enough!
That’s a very insightful response. You took the basic lessons we all learned in elementary school, and applied a much deeper level of understanding.
Thank you. If everyone would simply go back to those basic premises and refuse to compromise them, the republic would soon be secured.
The stamp of legal approval is what Roe v Wade was all about!
R U against capital punishment?
I believe that the Bible is clear on what the word used for “murder” is and it is different from the word used for “killing”. Murder is strictly forbidden in the 10 Commandments (OT) and I don’t see where that was changed in the NT. Police Officers and military have to kill, but they are not allowed to murder.
If you check it out on the internet, you will see that there are two different words.

Yes it was an especially good billboard. The picture was in black and white and very simple and so effective. It was hard to read the bottom of the sign, to find the organization that paid for the it. There are some good pro-life organizations here in WI.
