Sarah Palin: Smoking Pot Is No Big Deal
AOL ^ | 6/18/10 | Mara Gay

Posted on 06/19/2010 9:13:23 AM PDT by nmh

Sarah Palin says recreational pot smoking is "relatively speaking a minimal problem" in America.

...

"I think we need to prioritize our law enforcement efforts," she said. "If somebody's gonna smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society."

Allen St. Pierre, the director of NORML, which supports liberalizing drug laws, said Palin's position on pot is perfectly in line with her identity as a politician.

"If you're a populist as she appears to be, it's maybe not that surprising," he told AOL News in a phone interview today.

Yes, her lack of CONSERVATIVE ideology is showing again!

There is a big difference bewtween being a Populist and a Conservative. Palin is a Populist. It's no wonder she endorses and campaigns for McPain!

I like her even more now. I must admit. I have been saying for years. Alcohol will screw you up way more than smoking a joint. And alcohol is legal ?

It makes no sense.

Being a conservative means supporting a police state and erosion of constitutional liberties? ROFL

This seems like common sense to me.

We have millions of babies being aborted every year, our public services are overrun by illegal immigrants, our federal budget is facing a massive structural deficit... bigger problems to worry about than adults smoking a joint in the privacy of their own home.

That’s not what it says in the title.

Lets just throw mud on the wall and see what sticks! She didn't advocate using Pot, just said we should prioritize our use of resources and she is 100% correct!

Perhaps for Palin, “recreational pot smoking is “relatively speaking a minimal problem” - in Alaska. After all, Alaska has one of the worst drug-abusing states in the Union. Her home town of Wasilla is the methamphetamine capital of the Alaska!

A joint or two and a bunch of quiet stoners giggling and muching Cheetos seems desirable compared to freaked-out tweakers with guns.

There’s no Constitutional authority for the “war on drugs.” And there never will be, unless an amendment similar to the 18th Amendment is passed, giving Congress the power to prohibit (specific) drugs.

There’s nothing “conservative” about the “war on drugs.” It’s progressive nanny-statism, through and through.

Smoking pot makes you a loser... but it really shouldn’t make you a criminal.

Alcohol is legal. Going to a bar is legal.

Smoking a joint is not ?

It’s natural. It will not send you flying off the side of an interstate highway like the other stuff. Most likely you would reach for a bag of corn chips.
