My father-in-law was a Silas-Mason & Hanger employee at Pantex. He was there for 40 years. The plant serves a very useful purpose. The Lefties hate our ability to defend the U.S.
Based on what? From what I've seen about White, he'd be even worse than Goodhair.
I’ve seen a grand total of “1” Bill White Bumper sticker in Houston to date, this guy’s campaign was sunk here when it came out that he had been profiting through compabies he steered city dollars to...all legitimately of course, like all Democrats.
Eh, there’s always a few party-crossovers in any election. Sometimes it’s because of honest differences of opinion, sometimes it’s for more cynical reasons (personal or political rivalries, or even just the expectation that the other guy will be easier to do business with).
Don’t know which is in play here, but either way, it’s basically a non-story, IMHO. The Chronicle is trying to make a routine occurence in politics into something bigger than it really it is.

The Comical isn't giving the voters a reason to vote FOR White. The people say their choice isn't based on positions.
And then the Comical resurrects the TransTexas Corridor bugaboo in the same piece.
I recall when Democrats said that Parker (D-Houston) wasn't going to approve the soccer stadium like the other guy would. She did it anyway.
Perry is bad enough, but I’ll absolutely be voting for him. The other choice, White, is a hard core RAT. Perry is soft on immigration and it upsets me a lot. White is a Sanctuary City guy, which is even worse.

Sounds like sour grapes. Their candidate lost the primary and they can’t get over it. There are always a handful of those in every contested primary. Supposedly all those Hillary pumas were going to vote for McCain. Like that happened.

Given that White is recycling all of KBH’s attacks on Perry, I can’t say this is shocking. As much as I don’t care for Perry (I skipped the Governor’s race on the primary ballot), I won’t find myself voting for Bill White either.
Either way, the Chron is pathetically obvious in their journopolemicism. That's why their readership is circling the bowl, they made deep staff cuts last year, morale is in the toilet with the paper, and their urge-itorial page is down to a single page of regurgitated New York Times and WaPo opinion pieces. They probably couldn't afford Tom Sowell even if they wanted him.
