To: a fool in paradise

Eh, there’s always a few party-crossovers in any election. Sometimes it’s because of honest differences of opinion, sometimes it’s for more cynical reasons (personal or political rivalries, or even just the expectation that the other guy will be easier to do business with).

Don’t know which is in play here, but either way, it’s basically a non-story, IMHO. The Chronicle is trying to make a routine occurence in politics into something bigger than it really it is.

At least one of these “endorsements” is from a 20 year friend of someone running for governor. It isn't like he thinks he'll be able to get “access” he currently doesn't have. Nawww..

The Comical isn't giving the voters a reason to vote FOR White. The people say their choice isn't based on positions.

And then the Comical resurrects the TransTexas Corridor bugaboo in the same piece.

I recall when Democrats said that Parker (D-Houston) wasn't going to approve the soccer stadium like the other guy would. She did it anyway.
