Who's walking through the door? asked WFTV reporter Melonie Holt.
They come from every walk of life, said Debbie Brakefield, advanced practice nurse at Marion County Health Department.
For now, there are no income restrictions. The health department received a family-planning grant under the federal Title 10 program. Title 10 already provides family-planning dollars to every health department in the state.
Marion Countys grant provides an additional $100,000 in funding a year for three years. It's allowing the department to streamline its clinic and lift income restrictions on its vasectomy program.

The health department "performed 20 to 30 free procedures each year. The number is now closer to 100. A vasectomy would normally cost $300 to $400."
Who says the Feds won't close our "Southern" borders?
What won't those crazy Feds think of next to do with our money?
What won't Americans buy if it's offered for free?
Margaret Sanger would be happy...
Interesting comments after the article....
It *is* a problem that the least educated and responsible people tend to have the most children, and if free vasectomies reduce this problem, I favor it.
This story fits the death cultivation theme in that the Feds are using your tax dollar to encourage American men to [you should forgive the pun] cut-off themselves off from a stake in our nation's posterity.
Can you imagine the feminist outrage if clinics were doing free tubal ligations?
The irony is.... It’s OK to abort a baby, but don’t go pro-active on stopping a pregnancy in the fist place.
This is the best use of government dollars I’ve seen in a long time. No sarcasm.

Stiffling our population growth is a good use of tax dollars?
You’re going to have to fill me in on your logic.

The ACLU has already broke that idea years ago....
Ping!
I want one. I’m 42 dating a 23 year old. I don’t want any kids and have been thinking about getting one. Where do I sign up?
This has nothing to do with reducing the welfare rolls. It has to do with reducing the white vote 18 yrs from now. The minorities are encouraged to have large families/votes to promote the upcoming total socialistic society.Keep in mind that the minorities most of you are thinking of fear God. They are less inclined to respond to it. But your secular educated native born American -- conservatives included -- pretty much consider any connection to the divine and posterity as passé if they even think of it at all.Jun. 16, 2010 6:06pm EST | from adrian36
Exactly WHO do you think this billboard campaign is aimed at? It's not in Spanish.
Where do I sign up?

The problem is FORCING people against THEIR WILL to be sterilized, which is something the two above were big/huge/overwhelming proponents of.
Now offering incentives to self sterilize is a totally different matter. Say you pay each male who wants a vasectomy for the vasectomy plus a 1,000 dollar bonus. That is well and good because the person would have the choice to decide to do it or not. Now I don’t think the government should fund such an endeavor because it takes away the taxpayers choice to not fund something they are idealogically against, it should be “private charities” that fund it.
Ironically the ACLU would see this as “forcing” someone into it as they would be offered a “bribe”, but by that same token isn’t working a 9-5 job being bribed by trading your time for money? The ACLU has nixed ideas like this in the past by claiming they “force the poor people into them.”
I would say a privately funded charity doing this with the express consent of those wanting it would be perfectly, keep the government away from it, because the government screws up most things they touch.
Exactly WHO do you think this billboard campaign is aimed at?

That’s a good question. I did read the article which says “They come from every walk of life”.
But I guess you have a different interpretation?
“Margaret Sanger would be happy...”
She would be happy that it was being funded “by the stste” for the “greater (sic) good”. She would not be happy that they not rounding up these people to have it done to them.
Just wow. Granted, two of my ex-wives were significantly younger than me, but wow. 42 and 23. You are going to die. Yes, you may die happy. But 'No good can come from this'(tm).

Of course, I have a lib-speak filter, don't you?
When you read "We're against all forms of terror," what element is the lib trying to avoid singling out?
When the news fails to identify any identifying traits of a suspect (maybe hinting at one the very end of a story). Do you not nod in understanding what the doublethink involved was caused by?
In the 1990s, the ACLU created the term "racial profiling" and began attacking localities for engaging in it. What form of blinders do you suppose they were forging to fit upon our society? Today it is common to hear words like "coming from all walks of life" from the politically cowed.
So, yes, I am skeptical of those words as any rational reader needs to be in order stay that way. (At least to be able to engage the doublethink and not get in trouble for not engaging it.)
I'm with you.
