Woman pleads guilty to accessing Obama's student loan records

A woman pleaded guilty in Davenport federal court Wednesday to accessing Barack Obama’s student loan records without permission.

Mercedes Costoyas, 53, of Iowa City, is one of nine people charged with exceeding authorized computer access.

The indictments were filed last month in U.S. District Court, Davenport. Each person faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine, if convicted.

By pleading guilty, Costoyas still faces up to a year in prison. But her attorney, Christopher Hagenow, and prosecutor Joel Barrows said she likely faces zero to six months jail time.

She also faces deportation, according to discussion during the plea hearing, but Judge James Gritzner said “that issue is for another court on another day.”

Authorities did not specify a country.

You cannot run for office unless you have proof of American citizenship. Obama can not produce this and those that are shielding him are culpable to the crime.

She also faces deportation

We've finally discovered something that liberals are willing to deport an alien over.

I wonder what kinds of financial assistance was he applying for. Will we ever know?

Maybe she should turn over whatever it is she saw to WIKILEAKS, then the Left would be in a quandry to support or condemn WIKILEAKS.

Let me just say I don’t condone for a moment what she did, but... let’s just say I’m very curious to know what she found...

Obviously, one can, and has, and got elected.

My birth certificate and my brother’s birth certificate are online. When the internet came along, the hospital saw fit that all of the data was a matter of public record. I discovered this with a google search of my name.

It’s interesting to me that in this case alone we have 9 different people who supposedly accessed the records.

And no info leaks? There’s gotta be something there.

I’ll wager her plea deal includes a gag order of some kind.
