Gingrich isn’t in bed with global warming.
Instead of saying “I’m not listening!” which has been the failed strategy of most on the right, he says “OK, let’s talk about it.”
And then he proceeds to explain just why all of the proposed “solutions” from the left are harmful and dangerous.

It certainly beats not engaging the debate at all, and allowing the left to push ahead with their plans without a reasoned response. Simply saying “no” doesn’t win the battle for hearts and minds.

Its a shame that Newt is not Perfect, he is probably one of the GOP’s best spokesmen. Great knowledge and speaker.

You mean giving credibility to an outright FRAUD is the way to win hearts and minds? That is absurd, and twisted logic.

I can’t accept this, even if he claims he is playing some kind of 3 dimensional chess.

It’s not that he’s not perfect, but when you sit on a couch with Nancy Pelosi and film a commercial about Global Warming you lose 99% credibility with sane thinking people. How can he be trusted?

I would guess that is a bit of his new wife's social justice socialism from the Catholic Church. She got him to convert to Catholicism, and he probably has to please the wifey with a few choices pieces of red meat.

I generally respect Newt's thinking and ideology, and think he was one of the GOP's best minds.

That said, he is absolutely toxic to the conservative cause and I don't like seeing his name associated with it. Despite the unfairness of it in many ways, he was successfully demonized by the media, rendering him politically impotent. I wish he would just go away.

Yes, Newt is an intellectual. Great writer and amazing mind.
But he has what I consider one of the most damaging character traits in one seeking the presidency - the NEED to be LIKED. Leaders who need to be liked cannot make the ultimate hard decisions. Most democrats need to be loved.

You don’t see that need in strong modern presidents like Bush2 and Reagan or other world leaders like Thatcher.
Palin has also proved that she can do without being fawned over.

Nor do you see it in tyrants and demagogues and narcissists like Obama, Chavez, Castro, etc.

I do. Though I can fault him for a few things, he still KNOWS American history, government, economics and has some good creative ideas.

I have to kinda agree with you. Up to the point where he sat on a couch with Speaker Pelosi tooting global warming, I had much respect for him. He was and is a politcal lightning rod. Yet, he remains one of the most articulate minds and voices on the Right. I would hate to see him completely out of the process.

"cowards like you just quit"

In what world does expressing an opinion in an online forum make me a "coward"? And what did I "quit" on?

Explain yourself, bigmouth.
