Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) says US Senate candidate Alvin Greene's (D-SC) win in last week's primary race is highly suspicious.
Clyburn says South Carolina used voting machines that all other states rejected. In fact, they were bought from Louisiana, he said.
"Something went wrong with these machines," Clyburn said. "They were very unreliable," he added.
"All you need is a magnet" to compromise the machines, Rep. Clyburn said.
Who would have a motive? "The motive could very well be to embarass the Democratic party. This could be embarassing if we do not get it worked out. Or this could be someone who wanted to ensure a victory [for incumbent Sen. Jim DeMint]," Clyburn said.
Clyburn concluded there is a "great possibility" that someone paid for him to run and tampered with the machines.

hey, clyburn, I think they are on to ya! anybody but YOU.
More generally...
“...Democrats will stoop to about anything...”
"Something went wrong with these machines," Clyburn said. "They were very unreliable," he added.
"All you need is a magnet" to compromise the machines, Rep. Clyburn said.
And yet, with the supposed horrible faults of these machines, the state purchased them, presumably with at least some level of due diligence, and no one seemed alarmed till AFTER the primary.

What about the Democratic party higher ups, who might be trying to establish a precedent for throwing out any primary results where the proletariat fails to vote in a satisfactory fashion?
From the pictures and images I have seen of him, he doesn’t seem to have the “look” of a current or former heavy drug-user, the skin, the eyes, the other telltale signs. Which leaves head injury, doesn’t it? Poor guy.
Pretty sure waving a magnet past a machine isn’t gonna suddenly make all the votes jump to a particular candidate.

Maybe he’s just stupid. Stupid people do exist, you know.
Rawl and the Democratic Party knew before the election that Greene was doing very little campaigning after he paid the $10000 and said nothing about Greene’s competence until after the election. Now they are using this ploy against the voters in South Carolina that could force another vote at taxpayers expense. If they had any complaint about Greene’s competence it should have been vetted before the election. If there was any question about Greene’s competence they WOULD have known about it, yet they kept their silence. They made their own bed and they should lie in it.. Instead South Carolina Democrats are trying trying a shameless back handed unscrupulous manipulation of the election results of a US Senator.
Report from the AikenStandard dated 5/28/10.
Only Rawl is deemed by the Democratic Party to be a serious candidate.
Francis Marion University political scientist Neal Thigpen said Rawl’s chances are slim, but as a “more moderate, old-time South Carolina Democrat” with ties to the establishment, he could be a surprise in November.
Greene, 32, said he’s focused on job creation and has been campaigning across the state but he declined to specify where. The state party chief said he’s been unseen in political circles since paying the $10,440 filing fee.
“If a candidate wants to give the state $10,000, go for it, I guess,” said party Chairwoman Carol Fowler.
Greene, a single graduate of the University of South Carolina, says he spent 13 years total in the Air Force and Army before leaving the Army with an honorable discharge last August.

The executive committee could order a taxpayer-funded new primary, agree with the S.C. Election Commission’s certification of the results or find that voting or vote-counting problems were so significant that Rawl should be declared the winner.
Democratic Party chairwoman Carol Fowler said, adding that Rawl has requested a new primary with paper ballots instead of the voting machines used throughout the state.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
Clyburn is a TOTAL IDIOT!!! Does he even know what a voting machine looks like? At every precinct in SC, all the machines are used for BOTH parties...so if something was wrong w the machines, then the republican votes were messed up too! There is not a machine for Dems and a different one for GOP...they use a code key to bring up the different ballots when you state which party you are voting in. And then after all the voting is done, they take the chips out of the machines and lock them up till the next election...CLYBURN is a RACIST DUMBA$$!!!!
