An earthquake has rocked Southern California, shaking the Los Angeles area and forcing a halt to the Toronto Blue Jays-San Diego Padres game in San Diego.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-5.7 quake was centered five miles southeast of Ocotillo near the U.S.-Mexico border. It struck Monday at about 9:30 PDT.
The quake was initially reported as a magnitude-5.9 temblor.

Me neither. Just sitting here quietly, but didn’t feel a thing.

It was a very gentle, slow rolling one.

Come on up the coast from CA, to Washington. We get earthquakes and tornadoes and hurricanes (we call them ‘storms’) but really shine with VOLCANOES. Nothing like have 1200 feet blow off the top of a mountain to make you feel good!

Been through plenty of quakes....I would NEVER want to mess with a tornado. You haven't lived till ya seen your neighborhoods hog flying by your kitchen widow into the trees, riding on the hood of your neighbors F-150.

You can evade or take shelter from a tornado... You cannot escape a quake. I’ll take my chances with Dorothy and Toto.

You just had to stick the word “probably” in there.

It was also felt at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, but it wasn’t bad enough to scare people or stop the game - Angels vs Brewers.

What’s worse, you never know when an earthquake is coming.

I live in San Diego and used to go riding a three wheeler in that area of the desert quake. Then the BLM made most of it a wildness preserve around there and the nearby mountains. I guess so the illegals could die in peace during summer heat while crossing into the US.
The border patrol has done more damage in a protected wilderness area with their constant patrolling of the known ‘immigration’ paths and roads and by dragging a chain link fence to smooth the dirt and sand to observe foot prints and tire tracks. I hike the area occasionally now in the cooler months and the area is a disaster more than it ever was when it wasn’t wilderness area i.e. foot paths, more dirt roads, trash, water stations setup for illegals, catus/plants rolled over by the chain link dragging.....sad really.

I was in Toluca Lake in ‘94. The problem is they start about the same, and you don't know how bad they're going to be until they start subsiding, so you get that same ‘startle’ response every time. I'm in north San Diego County now, and we got a pretty good shake, pretty much the same as the Calexico quake felt here. Waiting for the adrenalin to drain out now.

You just had to stick the word probably in there. Well it isn't very scary if I say "won't".
And it's impolite if I say "hope".
