An earthquake has rocked Southern California, shaking the Los Angeles area and forcing a halt to the Toronto Blue Jays-San Diego Padres game in San Diego.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-5.7 quake was centered five miles southeast of Ocotillo near the U.S.-Mexico border. It struck Monday at about 9:30 PDT.
The quake was initially reported as a magnitude-5.9 temblor.

Did not feel a thing, thank goodness. Quakes scare the hell outta me. Weird how I did not feel it here(In West LA) but people in Northridge felt it..I guess it just depends on where you live

Eighteen aftershocks.
This event was supposedly an aftershock from the 7.2 quake on April 4.

It depends on where you live and the foundation you’re living on.

We lived through the ‘94 quake just a handful of miles from the epicenter. Ever after that, when one would happen at night (the ‘94 one was early, still dark on that January morning) I would awaken with my heart racing. I know a few people died of heart attacks from the ‘94 quake. Hope everyone in the San Diego area is ok!

I didn’t feel, but I know I will be up the next 30 watching the devastation on TV. Please pray for me!
There isn’t anything even in Brawley.

What kind of shock? We’ve already had lots of aftershocks.

I’ve never figured out which is worse — west coast quakes or midwest tornadoes.
Both are no fun.

Will any CA FReepers please leave CA immediately.
You aren't appreciated there anyway, and you're just holding up Judgment.
2 killer quakes coming up, 1 of them probably USA west coast within 45 days.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

aftershock...radio reported a large aftershock showing on the seismograph as it happened, and was waiting to feel it in LA.
I didn’t feel anything.

Shook a little here. Floor lamp shook but was not close to falling over. Felt rattle in house with slight noise. Felt the ground moving but not a lot. No trouble standing or walking. Nothing fell off of a shelf.

My earthquake software program shows the earthquake and dozens of aftershocks, not one.
I really felt it.
