Tea Party Conservative Congressional Candidate Needs Your Support and Prayers!

Posted on 06/13/2010 5:00:59 PM PDT by Mustachistan

I am asking for your prayers and support for a local US Congressional candidate, Bill Randall, who is engaged in a primary runoff June 22nd. Bill Randall is a 27-year conservative Navy veteran who achieved the rank of Master Chief and is now a local business consultant. I first met Bill at a tea party last year and was blown away by his speaking, passion, and ideas. At the time I lamented that I could not vote for him. I saw Randall again at the latest tax day tea party here in Raleigh and was delighted to learn that he was running in my district to unseat Brad Miller, who is a reliable Obama supporter in Congress; Miller needs to go in November. I am a volunteer for the Randall campaign, which is a grassroots effort fueled by passion for the candidate.

I direct you to Mr. Randall’s website, www.RandallforCongress.com, to see that Mr. Randall is exactly the type of conservative we need in Washington to fix this mess. Mr. Randall’s tea party speeches may be seen if you Google Bill Randall and Tea Party.

Mr. Randall won the primary in May against three other candidates, but did not reach the 40% threshold required by law and a runoff election has been scheduled for June 22. Our opponent is Bernie Reeves, a good-old-boy local publisher put up by the local GOP when they saw that Randall, a pro-tea party, small government, Christian conservative, was gaining momentum. Randall won the backing of many conservative, tea party, and libertarian groups, all of which can be seen via a Google search.

Our opponent, Bernie Reeves, is a “country club” Republican who is part of the insider crowd here in Raleigh. He has been working with local GOP operatives to raise large sums of money that have and is being spent on a very dirty campaign waged against Mr. Randall. Bernie Reeves is against the tea party movement, is pro-choice, has equated Christian fundamentalists with Islamist fundamentalists, and is everything wrong with the Republican Party today. Reeves was recently discovered to be paying himself over $5,000 a month out of campaign donations, and has paid over $50,000 of campaign money to his own magazine, The Metro, for his own campaign ads. Reeves is a weak, undisciplined candidate who cannot beat Brad Miller in November; he is vain and unlikeable, and his only advantage is his wallet.

Mr. Randall and Reeves engaged in a televised debate earlier this month, in which Reeves lost his temper several times and lost the debate. In response, Reeves has recently leveled charges against Mr. Randall, including those of plagiarism and resume fraud, all of which have been addressed and swept aside by the Randall campaign, violating Reagan’s 11th Commandment, thou shalt not speak ill of fellow Republicans. A low-level Randall volunteer some time ago posted text that was similar to that used by Scott Brown’s and other campaigns and put them on Randall’s web site. When this was discovered, Randall immediately pulled the text in question and accepted full responsibility for the mistake. Reeves also has claimed that Randall does not have an MBA, which he indeed does. Reeves has decided that he cannot win a campaign on ideas and has resorted to character assassination and innuendo, in press releases from operatives and in televised debates. Mr. Reeves campaign operatives, Carter Wrenn and Dennis Berwyn, have attacked Randall on dozens of conservative websites (just Google Berwyn and Randall). I fear that the fix is in--the first question at a recent televised debate came from Mr. Berwyn.

Reeves is a millionaire who is buddies with Clinton lackey Erskine Bowles, and has raised a large war chest. To date, Reeves has not campaigned aside from appearing on the radio and in debates. The Reeves campaign plans to bombard the airwaves right before the 22nd with negative attack ads. I fear that we will be unable to respond due to the fact that the Randall campaign is a grassroots effort with no substantial insider backing.

It is because we are at a disadvantage that I come to ask help from the Freepers. I ask you all for prayers for Mr. Randall (and for Bernie Reeves as well), and that you visit Mr. Randall’s web site, www.RandallforCongress.com. If you can donate anything at all, please do so—it is for a cause that we all believe in and time is running short. We need to win this primary so we may then turn our sights to unseating Brad Miller and the Obama Agenda in November. Thank you.

I’ve got my own similar primary battle here between a liberal entrenched RINO and a principled conservative. This is where I need to devote my resources. However, I will certainly pray for your guy.

Bill Randall has impressed me by showing up at so many events this year. If there is a protest at Bob Ethridge’s or Kay Hagan’s office, he’s been there 3 out of 4 times. He spoke at the Wake Co. school board meeting to voice support for the new School Board’s policy to stop “diversity” through busing. He would be a great conservative voice and vote in Washington. My district has its hands full with David Price. I am hoping to help BJ Lawson send Price Packin’. We just need lots and lots of $$$ for all of these candidates to get their message out. I plan to work my precinct to get the message out since I can’t send lots of money.

Wishing him luck on June 22nd! Here is a ping to some N.Caroling freepers. Perhaps many will help spread the word!

Also, here is a thread for after action reports from Freepers who attended a Support Arizona rally this weekend.

I first saw Bill Randall at the NC GOP State Convention last year when he ran for NC GOP Chairman. I thought: “Why isn’t this guy running for office?”

I’ve been a Randall For Congress Campaign Volunteer (County Coordinator) for the last nine months and will tell you he is a fine man and a great candidate who WILL defeat Brad Miller.

Fellow NC Freepers, please, get the word out to friends and family residing in the NC 13th Congressional District who are eligible to vote in the Run-off!

I like Bill Randall. I interviewed him over the phone last year when he was running for the state GOP chairmanship. My job was to make a presentation about him to my county GOP executive committee to help people decide who they were going to vote for at the state convention. I think my presentation got him a few votes from Orange Co. at least!

Where’s Sarah Palin?

I guess she doesn't owe John McCain any sacred loyalty on this one...

I, too, am running my own campaign for WV State Senate. As a fellow retired Navy Master Chief, I can make a good character judgement of him without ever meeting him. I wish him the best of luck.
