The Dutchman will not eat and sleep on the floor. Colombian hitman Trujillo Ospina, presumed assassin of Myriam Fefer, tries to visit him in his cell, which measures three meters by two-and-a-half meters.

(He) was transfered Friday to the maximum security prison Miguel Castro Castro, after confessing to murdering the young Peruian Stephany Flores. The cameras of the program "Weekly Report" record the entry of the European into the prison. Flanked by various agents and accompanied by the chief of the Institute of National Prisons, Rubén Rodríguez Rabanal, Van der Sloot was taken to a personal (single occupant) cell. He was examined by prison system doctors and was assigned the number 326390. He was able to speak Spanish and didn't need a translator...

Van der Sloot said he had a headache and hadn't eaten anything for two days....

The question is not if they will kill him, its how long they will take. Will they kill him quick or will it take hours?

It think it’s because there is such a large number of Italians and their descendants there. But it could be the Portugese, too, which always sounds so sweet and gentle to me. The gentleness isn’t there in the Argentine accent. There is an actor named Juan Soler who has mastered neutral Spanish so he can work anywhere, but I have heard him revert to his native accent, with a wink, and it is a glory to behold. He has had me rolling on the floor laughing. In the Mexican media, their Argentine hermanos are depicted as huge-nosed goofs with horrible hygiene and a tendency to scratch their nether regions in public.

There is also a parallel argument going on about Peruvian woman who have dealings with gringos, why they shouldn’t, how dangerous it is, how it is a result of racism and discrimination against the native meztizos, etc. Very interesting.

The Dutchman is obviously a racist. That's why he killed a blond woman.

The comments are interesting for their stupidity. I suppose that meztizos never commit murder? That must be why there are no meztizos in prison.

It may mean bribing a prison guard to look the other way.

Where can I contribute to that bribe fund? Do they take PayPal?

I guess it all depends on what you believe.

Once he’s in the gen pop, he will be asked every minute, “Are you as tough fighting men as you are killing girls?”

Or be told, "You are now a girl."

For the sake of his morale I wish the Prison PA System had been playing the Bridal March when he arrived.

I hope he lives a long time.

Sorry, I didn’t make that very clear. Actually they aren’t saying he is a racist, they are moaning that Peruvian women are racists — against their own kind — for preferring to take up with gringos rather than the native talent. They just think he is a homicidal maniac.

There might be in this case because Peru knows the whole world is watching, cant say for sure though.

The only thing that might save him from that is his family does have some pull in Aruba and Holland IIRC.

I watched Whoreldo's coverage of this case last night. Part of his commentary was that the people of Puru view this murder as a personal attack against their Country. Not a peep from Whoreldo yet as to how Americans view the numerous murders of their own Citizens by all of the illegal Mexicans here though.

That would make him somewhat intellectually honest. Great point.

What? Does this mean that the Gringo Lover is scoring more that the Latin Lover? Amazing!

They should put a hook in the ceiling, and give him some good string rope to hang his, you know, clothes on.

In Plato’s Republic, if I remember correctly, there is a discussion of whether its better to be a just man hated and despised as an unjust man, OR instead an unjust man loved and revered as a just man. Its one of those “bottom line” life questions.
