Vic Rawl, who was the presumptive Democratic nominee in South Carolina's U.S. Senate race until his upset loss this week to unemployed military veteran Alvin Greene, is now calling for an investigation into the results.
Rawl, a four-term former lawmaker who was heavily favored to win Tuesday, has accepted the help of a couple of mathematics professors who found some possible anomalies in voting patterns, including Rawl's superior performance among absentee voters compared with Election Day voters. Another expert examined voting machines used in the primary to check for malfunctions or tampering.
"These findings concern the campaign, and should concern all of South Carolina," Rawl said in a press release issued late Friday. "We do not know that anything was done by anyone to tamper with Tuesday's election, or whether there may have been innocuous machine malfunctions, and we are promoting no theories about either possibility."
"However, we do feel that further investigation is warranted," he said.
Greene did not return messages left for him at his home.

This fiasco just gets better and better.
Hey SC, I see you got those voting machines fine tuned for November. Maybe you should look THERE first!
Democrats do this all the time, but it's OK when they do it.
They are trying to figure a way to blame it on George Bush.
This one is going to stink, real bad, before they finish off Mr. Greene.
“but it’s OK when they do it.”
Even the illegal stuff is OK if they do it for the common good.
more popcorn.
It doesn’t make sense for the republicans to waste time screwing with democrats in this race. The democrats weren’t going to win anyway.
I do wonder if Greene wasn’t a shot across the bow of the democrats fired by the ACORN/SEIU crowd.

Dangling chads, anyone ???
Maybe they should just make voters show their papers?
IMHO, that’s a reasonable assumption. Interesting that the “experts” have said nothing about this possibility.
We need to close the primaries. Much fairer all around.
This is hilarious. The Dem elite now think they’re being scammed by who they consider to be the Dem riffraff. LOL!
“I’ll tell you exactly what happened: A large portion of Republicans switched over to Democrat for the primary specifically to get Mr. Greene nominated.”
Not likely, with a Republican Governor to be nominated.
Black Democrats voted for Greene, and he annoyed the rest of the electorate with his robocalls and spam emails.
That's easy.
If George Bush didn't make a contest out of the 2000 election, Al Gore wouldn't have been forced to contest the results. But since Gore set the precedent that Bush caused, Rawl has no choice but to follow Gore and contest the results.

“Black Democrats voted for Greene, and he annoyed the rest of the electorate with his robocalls and spam emails.”
Correction:
Greene’s opponent annoyed the rest of the electorate with his robocalls and spam emails.
Don’t forget about the Black Churches that put out the free advertising to side with Greene.
No matter what the Democrats do now...they basically destroy the party “trust” mechanism for the next two years. Everybody is going to register as a Democrat and vote for the number two or three guy....so the primary business is a total joke from this point on.
This is a recount of votes that were meant to be cast for someone else? This is better than name entertainment!
Vic Rawl is just going to have to accept this sincere snicker ... —> The voters are just not into you !!!
