The special relationship is over. We gave America years of unwavering support after September 11. And now we see how Barack Obamas administration repays us.
First, Obama declared that America was neutral over the sovereignty of the Falklands, ignoring the clear wishes of the islands population. And, second, his Assistant Secretary of State, Philip Crowley, snubbed Britain by failing to use their proper name and instead calling them the Malvinas.
I dont know where Obama learned about diplomacy, but his stinks. Im normally pro-American, but Mr Obamas seeming support for Argentinian aggressors, who have no legitimate claim over the Falklands, is gratuitously offensive. So from today, Im boycotting America as a tourist destination. This summer, Ill be going to France, not California.

How very interesting.... Source?
I’m no fan of Obama and I’ll vote against him just as I did last time. However, whining from the British don’t affect my opinion towards him. Britain tried to stop us from being a country, almost destroyed it in 1812 and only decided to be our ally when they realized only we could bail them out and we’ve bailed them out multiple times.
It’s been long past time for them to vacate both the Malvinas and to end their illegal and unwarranted occupation on the Emerald Isle which keeps it from being united as a single country as God intends it to be.
The Brits should redirect at Barky.
He’s not an American anyway...
We ought to have learned that one Michael Nifong is more than enough.I do hope that BP at least takes Obama to court.
Which is more than the holders of GM debt did when they were hosed by the community-organizer-in-chief . . .
As I read this, I could not help to think...Katrina! If the spill was the wind, then Obama is the surge.
The Brits were fawning all over Zero just before and after he got elected. Welcome to reality.
Er...AHEM! That would have been a bon mot from Oscar Wilde.
These thugs are destroying our nation right in front of our eyes...we must resist them and their government at every turn. Fascism is rearing it’s ugly head and it is here folks! Not coming, not in danger of happening, it is here, now!
If the UK really wants to go there, I say by all means let's...
How about if I just critique the reasoning power of the “tories” who threaten to go to France on vacation instead of America and use “obama” as the excuse - as if “he” represents America.
The list of vacation countries available to Brits like this must be growing very small indeed
First of all, I love REAL Brits. Not the liberal crap that poses as true British.
I can perfectly understand their feelings here. We feel the same, only we can't boycott our own country, nor would we want to.
Anything to do with the left, however, is in the sights.
OTOH, I remember reading the reports of all the British lefties who were so disappointed when Al Gore or John Kerry didn't get elected. So now they're disappointed when they do get their way? No wonder the Aussies call them "poms" or worse that I can't print.
Anyway, this is in no way directed toward true British, the one's with testosterone, our allies....
Wudda dummy. Europe and the Brits were 95% FOR obama a couple years ago.
Don’t blame us. Of all the countries in the world, the USA was probably the least in favor of him. But just enough to get him elected. Damn!
I’ve got some news for Alan. You were hoping beyond all hope that the Americans would elect ‘Mr hopey / changey’. Well, you got your wish. Now suck it up and deal with it. I’d like to boycott America too, but I live here.
Are there now classes in how to bow? This bowing bs is really getting out of control. I am waiting for the children to be taught how to bow in pre-k. FUBO & your asinine bowing!
Agreed.
I agree. And I want to state that both of us (at least I do, I’m pretty sure you do too) want BP to be held accountable for what they have done. Of course that’s reasonably accountable of course.
Ironic isn't it? Brits hated Bush who actually like the U.K. But their love for Obama remains unrequited. In fact, Obama likes to grind his bootheel into British throats as an expression of affection by Obama for his U.K. Obamatons.
Au contraire. I like/love them enough to have married one. And I even like my Bush-hating Brit in-laws who are mostly very nice people. Unfortunately, they have a lot more love for big government than I do. Excepting my wife who has pretty much come around to my way of thinking politically since we've been going together.
