The special relationship is over. We gave America years of unwavering support after September 11. And now we see how Barack Obamas administration repays us.
First, Obama declared that America was neutral over the sovereignty of the Falklands, ignoring the clear wishes of the islands population. And, second, his Assistant Secretary of State, Philip Crowley, snubbed Britain by failing to use their proper name and instead calling them the Malvinas.
I dont know where Obama learned about diplomacy, but his stinks. Im normally pro-American, but Mr Obamas seeming support for Argentinian aggressors, who have no legitimate claim over the Falklands, is gratuitously offensive. So from today, Im boycotting America as a tourist destination. This summer, Ill be going to France, not California.

The UK is number 3 on his most-hated nations list. The US and Israel are tied for 1st.
He's no fool ... he knows exactly what he's doing.
Exactly!
o m g r u f kidding me
What is this the Stepford cabinet?
I was going to say something like, “Hell, I live live here and I feel like boycotting the place”, but you folks beat me to it.
Everything is insane now. Barry0 wants BP to pay the other oil companies for losses from the moratorium.
Me, too. And I LIVE here!
If you read
- The New Dealers' War:
- FDR and the War Within World War II
by Thomas Flemingyou learn that the US was very loathe to get into WWII; right up until Pearl Harbor opposition to it polled 80%.
But then, the British jubilantly greeted Neville Chamberlain as a hero when he came back from his meeting to appease Hitler proclaiming "Peace in our time." So much for the idea that the British were more eager to fight Germany than the US was.
You also realize that the US was in the 1940s still not really over the War of 1812 enough to think that the British Empire was a good thing.
The US was anticolonialist. Monroe Doctrine, and all that . . .
And you know..., I suffered anxiety over it.
They’re going to take BP down. Britain is going to be furious. Can’t say as I blame them.
But they still have Mardi Gras. /s
Sounds like some Bush “Miss Me Yet?” billboards need to go up over there. :)
AFter stomaching Russel Brand’s little tirade on the music award show two years ago, calling Bush “retarded” and begging America to vote for Obama, I think it’s all quite humerous.
It’s a ridiculous article because of the whole boycott thing, but I can appreciate the anger and the anti-Obama sentiment. Zero really does stick it in the eye of the British every chance he gets. The Special Relationship isn’t over because our interests still coincide; only when they permanently diverge will it truly end. Unlike Britain we have a constitution which doesn’t allow us to call for new elections at the drop of a hat...we have to wait it out until 2012. See you then Alex.

Funny how the article Drudge linked didn't mention any of that. Well, not really.
bump for later read.
Mrkd
Unfortunately I believe your right.
>> Bambi is a fool who does not care who are former allies were.
Many of our allies told us to eat dirt while fawning for the One.
I love Europe, but they can eat dirt on this One - their damn infatuation with vapid BS.
