And he wouldn’t need to resort to childish slogans like “lamestream” media.

You will need to get over yourself and get off the lamestream media Kool Aide.
There is nothing “childish” about calling the lamestream media, the “lamestream media”. They ARE lame to the extreme, and that is about the most polite term you can use for them vermin.

The idiotic British press never fail to disappoint when it comes to writing stupid articles. The whole article is full of mindless drivel, contradictions and sheer stupidity.

Controversial US politician Sarah Palin could soon be on her way to Britain to boost her hopes of challenging Barack Obama in the 2012 US presidential election.”

Controversial over what?
I don't see the British calling their Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, “controversial”, when he wants to eliminate the entire British Trident nuclear fleet, even as as Islamic crazies like Iran and Pakistan develop their nuclear weapons at full speed.

Her representatives approached Margaret Thatcher to ask for a meeting as part of a bid to enhance her claim to be the ‘heir to Ronald Reagan’ “

Sarah Palin has never claimed to be the heir to Ronald Reagan at any time, and if she did, she wouldn't need some British newspaper to “enhance” that claim. When did some ignorant British idiot become the final arbiter on who is or isn't the “heir” to Ronald Reagan, who is as American as apple pie?

Any trip by Mrs Palin to Britain could cause potential problems for David Cameron.”

What does private trip by private citizen Sarah Palin to Britain have to do with Cameron?

Embarrassingly, Mrs Palin’s team have not contacted No. 10 so far."

Huh?
On the one hand, the writer claims a Sarah Palin trip will be an “embarrasment” to David Cameron, and on the other hnd, he states that Sarah Palin has not even attempted to see Cameron. So how can both seeing or not seeing Cameron be an “embarrassment” at the same time?

their main interest is getting a picture of her with Lady Thatcher. I’m not sure they know who David Cameron is.”

Most Americana don't know or care about who David Cameron is, but to suggest that Sarah Palin doesn't know who David Cameron is, is idiotic to the extreme.

It would also pose a delicate diplomatic protocol dilemma for the Prime Minister, who is trying to defuse an acrimonious confrontation with Mr Obama over the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.”

Umm..Sarah Palin hasn't even made any attempt to see Cameron. She is free to visit any country she wants and Cameron can do what he likes. Sheeesh!

But I hope Palin doesn’t get too complacent about being the anointed one

I don't remember ever hearing Sarah Palin claim that she is the “heir” to Ronad Reagan, let alone getting complacent about it.

Sarah Palin is not the heir apparent to Ronald Reagan.

Says who?
You?
And just who are you to decide if she is or isn't?

Why do so many people here at FR keep saying that”

It's not just people on FR that have said that. Ronald Reagan's own son (not the idiot one), Michael Reagan, says the same thing himself.

Micheal Reagan:
“Welcome Back, Dad”
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=28389

I would think Micheal Reagan knows a a heck of a lot more about his dad than you don't don't you?

...our allies yearn for American strength, light, and leadership, and would welcome having an adult in the house again.

You're absolutely correct about that.

If Obama were the president of some small country like Ecuador, it wouldn't make a great deal of difference to the geo-political big picture, but he's at the head of the most powerful nation on earth. That is cause for alarm.

You bet our allies want a strong leader like Sarah Palin in the White House again.

sorry I think Ronald Reagan would wipe the floor in a debate with Palin.

Ronald Reagan "debate" with Sarah Palin? What on earth would they find to disagree about? They're of the same mind, through and through.

Give Sarah two more decades of fine aging, and she'll be every bit the picture of Reagan or Thatcher. What you don't see is that she's of their same extraordinary caliber.

She'll never be them, just as no one will follow her in quite the same fashion. We're all unique individuals - including the greatest among us.

Funny, the most instructive comment in the article hasn't even been acknowledged, much less addresses.

“One individual involved in the talks about the visit said: ‘Palin’s people haven’t said anything about meeting Cameron. Their main interest is getting a picture of her with Lady Thatcher.”

Discuss the fall of the Soviet Union?

Nope.

Discuss the fall of communism in Eastern Europe?

Not on the agenda.

Discuss her special relationship with Ronald Reagan?

No time.

It seems the main interest in the Palin camp is to fly in and out to SNAP a PIC of the two together so they can shamelessly use it over and over in her media/campaign literature to fawning fans and donors.

Transparent if not disgusting if you ask me. The Palin team is planning to use the Great Iron Lady as a propaganda prop.

Let’s see how fast Obama sets up a meeting with Lady Thatcher.

If that happens, then Baroness Thatcher should practice her famous handbagging technique. It would not be inappropriate to use the bust of Churchill in place of a handbag.

Don't recognize the term. What did the Lady Thatcher do? "Innocently" give a passing "not-so-dignitary guest" her handbag to "carry"?

Are you suggesting that Palin allowed drug sales to go up in Alaska and that is why McCain chose her?

In no way am I suggesting that.

It just that stopping or bringing attention to the growing Mexican Drug Cartels influence was not a priority for her (as indicated by a. the complete lack of comment by her, b. her acceptance of McCain's Amnesty c. her subsequent endorsement of McCain for Senator. And everyone I know in the LEO biz believes McCain is 'controlled by the Mexican mob)

I saw one video of her talking about Amnesty and a path to citizenship.

Now she seems to have got religion on the borders ... but I don't trust her based on the above facts.

If when she was in position to stop or slow down the growth of the Cartels and did nothing, what would that cause one to think ......?

A. She is stupid.

B. She is indifferent.

C. She was/is willing to accept the Cartels, as it would hinder her political career to oppose them or bring light to their activities.

The article uses an unnamed source who somehow "knows" Palin's intentions:

And Bob formulates his opinion based on it:

That supposedly is Bob being "objective" about Sarah.

There is the possibility of D: Sarah was kept continually distracted with other more pressing problems.

Drugs and gangs were among her top priorities she stated before she was elected governor. (http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Sarah_Palin_Drugs.htm)

Still the selection by Mexican mob puppet McCain is telling... Why would the Mexican Mob want Palin?

Palin was not supportive of casino gambling in Alaska as governor. (http://www.onlinecasinoadvisory.com/casino-news/online/palin-gambling-position-unknown-1932.htm )

Here however is a theory: Remember Sherry Johnston, the grandmother for Bristol Palin’s baby? What if the mob knew about it and believed they could control Sarah by threatening to expose the criminal activity of Johnston.
(http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1208/16747.html) When Johnston was arrested, that was the end of it as blackmail material. There are also rumors of drug abuse in others of Sarah’s kids, but from weak tabloid sources.

So what do you think? Does an attempted blackmail situation make sense?

Actually, the Mexicans are a bit more direct: "Nice a boat your husband he's a got there, pity something bad should while he's a hundred miles off shore."

I'm also predicting something bad is going to happen to that punk Levi, should Ms. Palin appear to be any kind of threat.

Probably be fatal too. Just to dirty her up.

My understanding is that she used (or threatened to use) her handbag to whack recalcitrant politicos into line. The Brits would be a better source on Lady Thatcher's no-nonsense behavior.

Gotta mark this article for future reference.

It would be really nice if all the American people put their names to a petition (is that the right word?) that speaks of the love and adoration the American people have for Lady Thatcher. And then Sarah Palin could present it to her when she visits Lady Thatcher.
