After he was charged with first-degree murder by a Peruvian judge, Joran van der Sloot got an earful today from an angry mob of people who yelled and threw objects at him as cops hastily transported the Dutchman to jail.
Lima Superior Court Judge Juan Buendia issued the order before dawn and the 22-year-old suspect was first taken with other prisoners in an armored truck to Lima's judicial palace, then alone to an eastern Lima prison where he will have his own cell in a segregated block.
The aggravating factors are having acted with ferocity and great cruelty, the judge said.
Police manhandled van der Sloot as they ushered him quickly out of the truck at into the judicial palace, a scarf around his neck and his hands cuffed behind him. Two officers pushed his head down.
"Disgrace!" and "Murderer!" angry onlookers yelled as van der Sloot was taken from the prosecutor's office where he had been held since Thursday. One person threw rotten lettuce.

“Yeah.... His spouse will be El Bubba ! He will be at the receiving end though or la queen !”
“Hes going to the chapel and hes going to get married...”
“la queen” that would be “la Reyna”, in any language though Urin is hosed.
The point of that story is that Peru is not returning Aruba’s phone calls.
I assume that since they're described as "charge with" as opposed to "convicted of" that they also are awaiting trial. This tells me they'll be on relatively good behavior and he'll be relatively safe there.
Another proper translation would be "Bustard" (only put an "a" in place of the "u"...)

Yea i wonder why the sad face.
At this time of year? Not at all. It's late fall down there, and winter will be coming on soon (and it can get cold in winter in Lima...)

Peru did, recently have a capital punishment on its books for crimes related to the Shining Path, and Tupac Amaru, but whether its still in force today is unclear to me, and inapplicable to this case...

Thanks, interesting video, although I didn't get any sound with it. I guess that was the transfer of Joran van der Sloot from Chilean authorities to the Peruvian authorities, if I understand this right.
I can see he's been treated very well, as they have said.
I did notice one thing that caught my attention. One of the officials (or officers) there was using an iPhone to take pictures or videos. I would imagine if he's got a recent iPhone that he's taking videos ... :-)
I guess he's documenting it for himself and his grandchildren to say, "I was there when they got van der Sloot!" ...

I see ... and there's no reason to, either. The Peruvian authorities really don't care what went on in Aruba. They're only concerned about their own country.
Exactly. And Peru doesn’t care about the U.S. extortion plot either. They’ll probably use it as a bargaining chip in U.S. aid negotiations at some point, though.
Good video link.
That was surreal.
I noticed the ‘nurse’ kept clutching her jacket together -praying she is not required to have any further contact with him.
Hard to understand how one so young could be so evil.
Late fall!? No kidding, I didn’t know this. I would assume, by looking at those pictures that there is no airconditing, much like I had seen in a show about Mexican prison. 15 men per cell, no running water , no AC.
I have to admit that some of these foreign countries have the right concept about prison, make it HELL, and perhaps people won’t want to go, much unlike this country, where a certain segment of the population wears its clothes in such a way to mimic prison uniforms that lack belts.
I'm guessing that Van will suicide when he gets the chance.
And those 6 months will feel like double dog years too.
I am waiting for the bodies of murdered girls to start popping up in Colombia. Van Der Sloot was there until May 14 and then went to Peru.

Colombia is already looking into it. I believe there are two that they are looking into right now.
No surprise.
There are two things I can’t stand in this world: people who are intolerant of other people’s culture, and the Dutch.

BRETT BORKAN
Colombian intelligence agency DAS challenged a report linking Johan Van der Sloot, a Dutchman arrested Thursday on charges of murdering a 21-year-old Peruvian, with the disappearance of two young girls in Bogota.
A DAS official told W Radio Wednesday morning that their records indicate that Van der Sloot was indeed in Colombia at the time of the disappearances, but that he was merely in transit to his final destination of Lima, Peru, and never left Bogota's El Dorado airport.
The DAS announcement challenges a previous report from Colombian newspaper El Espacio, which linked Van der Sloot to the case.
According to El Espacio, the Dutchman was in Bogota from May 6 to 14 to play in a poker tournament, and was seen by witnesses in the company of the two missing girls, both "regulars" at the casino where Van der Sloot was allegedly playing.
Van der Sloot, who gained notoriety after becoming the main suspect in the 2005 disappearance in Aruba of American teenager Natalee Holloway, only to be released due to lack of evidence, has admitted to murdering Peruvian Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel on May 30.
Surveillance video captured Van der Sloot entering a hotel room with Flores and leaving without her. Hotel workers found Flores' battered body a few days later.
