I was near there once, at night. It was very scary.

Is it an industrial/ghetto/strip club section of town.
Our State has one of those areas in NE Portland and in the Middle of it sits about 60 acres of trails at the Catholic Grotto.
Beautiful/peacefilled grounds and soon as you make a left/right outta the place its seedy looking strip bars everywhere. Kinda ironic.
I know the area well. Most of my family lived in that area from the mid 40's to the mid 70's. My elderly aunt and uncle still live not far from there.
It wasn't so bad when I was a kid, but today, I wouldn't go there unarmed.
