I witnessed the 'going rogue' in Michigan, first hand in Grand Rapids, and I really thought she'd be an incredible force of change and good with McCain. He did, after all, pick her for a reason. She made it clear they had their differences and she'd work to change his mind (I had video of it at one point and posted it here). Admittedly, that was incredibly naive of me. And as the campaign went on, it was pretty damn clear McCain would have none of that, let alone being overshadowed by a VP with more ideals, conviction and appeal than he had. It was a very hard sell for me to pull the level for McCain.

Do I regret it? No, actually. Because his loss exposed him for the incompetent, backstabbing jackass he's always been. It was a great eye-opener for me. And there was no way in hell a President McCain could have ever played second fiddle to Sarah Palin. She would have been gone within 2 years. I've said if Reagan's ghost were to run with McCain, I would NEVER vote for him again. That's still true to this day. And not even McCain/Palin Rd 2 would get me to vote for him (not gonna happen anyway).

And that's why I didn't agree with her endorsing McCain, because like the majority of Palin fans, we know what a treacherous, backstabbing Judas he is. And like Rush, Levin, etc., I don't like it- but I get why she did.

I’ll give you credit for being more frank than anyone I have run into that supports Sarah. It’s refreshing to see someone actually explain why they did support McCain (I’ve seen a lot of folks try to explain this in terms like yours), explain why they may have been wrong to do so, and explain that they wouldn’t do it again. I appreciate the candor.

I’ll be honest with you, I would still be supporting Sarah today if she hadn’t come out in support of McCain in his run for the Senate. And the longer she sticks to that decision, and supports McCain’s return to the Senate over a sound guy like Hayworth, the more it destroys my ability to reverse my current view of her.

If she continues to play a part in Hayworth being unable to gain traction, my position is going to be cast in concrete.

Imagine what it’s like for a guy like me to develop a list of despicable things McCain has been involved in for his entire life, only to have folks say it doesn’t matter and Sarah was right to back him in his Senate bid.

If folks were to say, I really despise that, but I still think she’s tops, I would just think they are silly. When they defend McCain and tell me I’m the problem, it angers me so much I want no part of the delusional movement that says Sarah could never do any wrong. And we’re now into months of this very behavior, some of the most destructive self-defeating stuff we’ve ever seen in Conservatism.

We’re not being unfair to Sarah, to point out how flawed it is to back this man.

Thanks for the back and forth.
