The only bloodlust I see emanates from the MSM and the Obama administration.

Anthony Weiner, a usually sensible Democratic congressman . . .

The Guardian is discovering the meaning of that old phrase, "it all depends on whose ox is being gored". British socialists nationalizing other people's industries were okay with the prominent Socialist rag, but another country's socialists calling to nationalize their property? That's a different story.

The msm has a vested interesting in bashing BeePee morning noon and night. It diverts blame for the total lack of response by Mr. wee-wee himself.

BP is ruining all the Gulf coast with the jobs there and natural resources. BP just paid out 2.63 billion in dividends. I would call BP an honest player if that money had been put into a restitution fund. So far I don’t trust BP on any kind of payouts they will be making. They are a British company so how much jurisdiction does US law have?? What US assets does BP have that the Feds could seize to pay out to Americans who have been harmed?

If the relief wells fail after waiting these long three months for them to hit pay dirt...Then things will get very hairy

I am boycotting BP. Accidents are one thing, these guys decided to continue KNOWING their safety devices had already failed. They thought they would save a few million and be heros. Now they’ve cost BILLIONS, the lives of 11 people and countless lives of gods creatures for no good reason. I’ll never buy BP gas again. I suggest the local owned an operated BP stations find a new vendor now, as my boycott is permanent. I personally hope they go out of business, so the other companies will take safety a little more seriously.

I will post the opposite of freepers. BP is going to bankrupt millions of Americans. I am in favor of getting restitution from BP by any means necessary. If 0bama has the cojones to do it, then I will support him.

BP has got to show me the money (in billions) for cleanup efforts. Until then I don’t trust them and certainly have no sympathy for them.

“Anthony Weiner, a usually sensible Democratic congressman...”

Aaaaahhh! NOT. The guy is a partisan dupe who has never strayed off the DNC talking points. Have been forced to endure him as one of FOX’s token liberals for years.

So now if you speak British, you are an enemy of the obamite regime ... interesting. How many of those brave NATO soldiers dying in Afghanistan (for obama’s war) speak British?

Let's see, the protesters want to:

1) Have the U.S. government "seize" BP - They are demanding that "We the People" must take over and own this company, and use taxpayer dollars to "fix" the things it has done wrong.

2) Boycott BP - They want "We the People" to try to put the company they just insisted "We" must own and operate out of business, thereby assuring our taxpayer dollars have disappeared forever.

Hmmmmmmm. Interesting.

But you know, I can see where the Obama administration might just go for it; what with it being par for their course and all.

Obama is a pose, a figure, and a look - he is purely political, not a shred of common sense or leadership.

As such, if “getting angry” polls well among his base, that’s what he will do.

In order to fully understand the causes and culpability, time must pass. So far, the concerns have been rightly focused on stopping the spill (and cleaning the existing mess). Once contained, sober-minded individuals (read: not Eric Holder) need to investigate the incident.

There have been very credible statements about how the water used to extinguish the fire caused the rig to collapse. That, to me, doesn't sound like a BP issue. Construction companies and/or firefighters (not the individuals, but the agencies who develop standard practices) could come under scrutiny for that.

Another thing: how many redundancies are required for deep water drill failures? As I understand it, this catastrophe is a result of a redundant or secondary safety feature failing. Some may be tempted to call this a "s*** happens" moment.

Not defending BP; I don't know the facts. Nobody does, at this point. So yes, I believe the bloodlust is a bit too vehement at this point.

Irrespective of liability, it is worth pondering whose interests a BP bankruptcy would serve.

Obama and his hard left pals. They are all about seizing big corporations and their assets.

...

Many will argue that BP deserves to die, and anger is entirely understandable. But critics should be careful what they wish for. America is a nation with a tradition of due process and everybody – even “big oil” – is entitled to a fair trial.

Bloodlust? What bloodlust?

Everyone knows BP is going to end up with billions of dollars from Ubama's stash courtesy of The American Taxpayer.

Internally BP should remove much of it's senior management but it won't happen laughingly because senior management would have to kick themselves out. The likely future for BP is either Chapter 11 or dissolution because they are toxic and no sane company will take them over.

As to Haliburton, Transocean, et. al. Time will tell but they are in big trouble. Massive government involvement is a given. Big oil may be doomed over time. This crisis may even help the progressives if no the current administration. Does anyone actually think the Feds could have done better? They were the regulator who failed here.
