Lord Tebbit and Boris Johnson attack Barack Obama's 'anti-British' rhetoric...

Boris Johnson and Lord Tebbit have hit out at Barack Obama’s anti-BP rhetoric, adding to pressure on David Cameron to intervene.

The Prime Minister is facing growing calls to defend the British-based multinational against increasingly outspoken attacks by the U.S. President over the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

The London Mayor said BP was paying 'a very, very heavy price' for what had been an accident, and pointed out that UK pension funds had a 'huge exposure' to BP.

And Lord Tebbit, a former trade and industry secretary, suggested the U.S. President was attacking BP to distract from his administration’s impotence in the face the disaster.

Good! Just as it was back in grade school - the only way to effectively deal with a bully is to stand up to him, and Obuttocks is nothing more than a school-yard bully.

Piss off our friends and allies while kissing up to our enemies! Your foreign policy is working, Mr. Obama, for somebody.

Boris Johnson is not a communist. He's a conservative.

Quote from Boris Johnson:

"To any non-Muslim reader of the Koran, Islamophobia — fear of Islam — seems a natural reaction, and, indeed, exactly what that text is intended to provoke. Judged purely on its scripture — to say nothing of what is preached in the mosques — it is the most viciously sectarian of all religions in its heartlessness towards unbelievers."

"The trouble with this disgusting arrogance and condescension is that it is widely supported in Koranic texts, and we look in vain for the enlightened Islamic teachers and preachers who will begin the process of reform. What is going on in these mosques and madrasas? When is someone going to get 18th century on Islam’s mediaeval arse?"

"We — non-Muslims — cannot solve the problem; we cannot brainwash them out of their fundamentalist beliefs. The Islamicists last week horribly and irrefutably asserted the supreme importance of that faith, overriding all worldly considerations. It will take a huge effort of courage and skill to win round the many thousands of British Muslims who are in a similar state of alienation, and to make them see that their faith must be compatible with British values and with loyalty to Britain. That means disposing of the first taboo, and accepting that the problem is Islam. Islam is the problem."

"Writing on his website, Lord Tebbit said Mr Obama’s attitude was explicable but ‘despicable’. ‘The whole might of American wealth and technology is displayed as utterly unable to deal with the disastrous spill - so what more natural than a crude, bigoted, xenophobic display of partisan political Presidential petulance against a multinational company?,' he said. "

Yep - that's our BO - making friends and influencing people all over the globe.

“a crude, bigoted, xenophobic display of partisan political Presidential petulance”?

That’s extremely Twitter worthy ;-) Great job Lord Tebbit!

Wow. Could we trade Boris for Obama (since the Brits liked him so much). We could throw in Joe Biden as well. He’s very familiar with British political speeches.

“Red” Ken Livingston was defeated in 2008 by Boris Johnson.

"Islam is the problem"

Johnson certainly has a lot of guts for expressing that view. Especially considering Britain has very strict laws concerning what a person can say. Even here in the States, no politician would ever utter that statement for fear of being ripped to shreds by our p.c. police. But it is the truth: Islam is the problem. I wonder how many U.K. residents share Johnson's views. I'll have to ask my Brit in-laws the next time I see them.

I almost feel sorry for the U.K. but they spent eight years trashing America and Pres. Bush for all that we stood for. Now they have the president they hoped for.
