Look at post #8, or read the "Key Documents" on the lower right side of the site, for proof that he DID try to go through the proper channels...back in early/middle 2009!
They, the military brass AND his elected "representatives" (essentially) ignored him, like they've ignored the rest of us who have sought the proof the "one" is indeed a "Natural Born Citizen" as the Constitution requires.
What else would a proper channel be? Ask up your chain who tells you to shut up and obey the CIC who you are sure is illegal? Ultimately his argument is that Obama *is not* his commander in chief due to ineligibility. For there to be a case, he must disobey an order. Then it can be tested in court.
Same as if he walked in one day and a high school ROTC kid was there in the commanders office, issuing orders. He has a right to know if this is legitimate. He has a legal obligation not to obey orders he believes to be illegal.

it seems to me that if someone pulled this during Bush Presidency people would not be forgiving at all.
Bush was a qualified Article II CiC -- Obama is not.
He tried, with no one giving him any evidence that BO is eligible for the office he occupies. Or even responding to his inquiries for the most part.
As far as I know, Lakin did go through the proper channels of command and has all the documentation showing he was refused answers all along the way, which caused him to take the next step and put his excellent career on the line and even face Court Martial.
