The distance between the president and the people is beginning to be revealed.
The deepening notes of disenchantment with Barack Obama now issuing from commentators across the political spectrum were predictable. So, too, were the charges from some of the president's earliest enthusiasts about his failure to reflect a powerful sense of urgency about the oil spill.
There should have been nothing puzzling about his response to anyone who has paid even modest critical attention to Mr. Obama's pronouncements. For it was clear from the first that this presidentsingle-minded, ever-visible, confident in his program for a reformed America saved from darkness by his arrivalwas wanting in certain qualities citizens have until now taken for granted in their presidents. Namely, a tone and presence that said: This is the Americans' leader, a man of them, for them, the nation's voice and champion. Mr. Obama wasn't lacking in concern about the oil spill. What he lacked was that voiceand for good reason.
Those qualities to be expected in a president were never about rhetoric; Mr. Obama had proved himself a dab hand at that on the campaign trail. They were a matter of identification with the nation and to all that binds its people together in pride and allegiance. These are feelings held deep in American hearts, unvoiced mostly, but unmistakably there and not only on the Fourth of July.

And BTW I didn't say that any of these folks know he is an alien. I said they do not know whether he is a citizen (and some understand that even if he is a citizen, he is certainly not a natural born citizen) of the United States. And they know that they do not know.
I don't know that Obama is an alien. I just suspect it because he won't do the normal thing that every citizen would do if the question arose about them.

I too want to see Obama’s bc as well as all his other mysteriously hidden records. But until that is forthcoming, we have to concentrate on matters at hand. Obama being forced out of the White House because someone suspects he’s an alien is NOT!!! going to happen. So the best thing to do is concentrate on what will get him out. That is voting for candidates who oppose Obama’s socialism and continually expressing our own opinions.
Those unneeded snarky comments about the birthers where put in there in a effort to get an invitation to be a commentator on Fox News.
Well?...Since you think that Obama's natural born status is a lost cause, why do **you** waste so much time on these threads? Huh?
Also the birthers can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Please let me be interested in what I want to be interested in; and don't say silly things about what I'm interested in. Just ignore them.
The lefties I know think it's a serious matter that he hasn't released his birth certificate; and even some think it's wrong for him to be President if he's not a NBC but usually they're not sure what that means. These same lefties think socialized medicine is just peachy. I think it's better to reach them on something we can agree upon.

I’m walking, but I don’t chew gum. The original thread by Dorothy Rabinowitz incidentally mentioned birthers in a negative way. The birthers then started to interject their comments about Rabinowitz. I responded. You don’t like it? Too bad. I encourage you to forget about the Obama-is-an-alien stuff, and concentrate on what will get Obama out of the White House. Voting him out. None of you are getting any traction with the birther tack, and furthermore, you never will.
A commissioned poll by WND reports that 58% of the nation believe that Obama should release all his records including his birth certificate.
Gee! No traction there! ( sarcasm with eyeroll!)
Drip drip drip,...and Obama’s credibility swirls down the drain.
Yes, we’ll see how far the investigation gets. As I’ve stated before, I’d love to see all of Obama’s records. But him being removed from the White House over this issue will not happen.
