Meg Whitman, the billionaire former eBay chief executive who poured tens of millions of her own fortune into her first-time bid for political office, easily won the Republican primary for California governor Tuesday, advancing to face a Democratic icon, former two-term Gov. Jerry Brown.

I was stunned when he won AG, but it is indicative that a conservative cannot win in CA these days.

Highly doubtful she can win against Brown. Brown is a known quantity.

No chance in hell Brown wins...he is exactly what people are pissed about...established political elite...

California does not need luck. It needs a plague of death like passover, where conservatives mark their doors with lambs blood and the 1st born voter in every liberal household drops dead. That might level the current ratio of 4 registered Democrats to every 3 registered Republicans. Or not.

Thanks again for giving me Jerry Brown for Governor.

Much obliged. Now, what did you gain by doing that?

“I have lost any optimism that I ever had for this State.”

I left 20 plus years ago. The writing was on the wall even then. My advice to any conservatives left in the People’s Republic is simple: move. There are many better places to live.

Are you unware that McCain joined George Soros, Teressa Heinz Kerry, and the Tides Foundation to set up a political entity for which all his campaign staff went to work making six figures? Yeah, all the DU trolls find fault with that.

Come on, you can do better than that.

Of course we dumb Conservatives are a shrinking minority in California. All of the smart Conservatives are leaving. The day I retire, I am leaving too.

I grew up in CA and still live here and I don't know ANYONE who thinks Jerry Brown is "wonderful."

Same here...I don't know anyone here who likes him...if he wins it will ONLY be because he is a Democrap...

Poizner spent 30 million of his own cash. Too many could see through his Eddie Haskell act. He was even an ass on his concession speech.

Well, sorry, but we none of us are going to be that fortunate as to receive such a Lord's warning, these days.

Calbania will either right itself through the votes of its citizens, or it will not. Certainly the assorted bastards of both parties who infest Sacramento won't do anything constructive (nor have, for, what?!, 30 years or so).

I've nothing against Calbania, m'FRiend...but it would indeed seem that the citizens thereof DO have some serious work to do. Will they? Being a generally practical trader, and absent your advice to the contrary, I shall bet against.

Yes, prop 14 is easily the worst news of the night. The Marxist socialists now have a complete stranglehold on California Government. George Washington could return to life and be elected California Governor but it wouldn’t matter. The California legislature, House and Senate, will now be stacked with the most Marxist of socialist liberals ever to hold statewide office.

California is DONE. It is over. My only hope is outright depressionary economic collapse that wakes the middle class sheeple idiots to the dangers of Socialism.

My best guess is that these idiots will blame Capitalism for California’s depressionary economic collapse and demand hard communism. I kid you not.

It is over. California is done. It is over.

I gained the fact that whatever happens that is bad, will be done at the hand of a Democrat. I’m not playing into the game plan that sees our 90% Democrats with an (R) after their name destroying our state for the Left.

If people get tired of being screwed, perhaps they’ll opt for someone who is truly Conservative.

All they have to do is dig up all the stuff about “Governor
Moonbeam”. Also, as Mayor of Oakland, he left Oakland in
worse shape than when he started.

I will take Arnold in a dress over Jerry Brown in a tuxedo every time. Or do you think Jerry Brown is an improvement over Whitman.

Arnold was better than Gray Davis. He just quit after one attempt at cleaning house. He is guilty of being completely ineffective, nothing more than that.

Jerry Brown is going to send taxes of all kinds through the roof and will not attempt to cut a single penny from a single program.
