(UPI) -- More Americans disapprove of President Obama's handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill than of his overall job performance, a Gallup Poll indicated Tuesday.
Results indicated Obama's rating for the oil spill was 40 percent, 7 percentage points lower than his overall job approval rating. More Americans disapprove than approve of his handling of the oil spill that began April 20 when an oil rig exploded, killing 11 workers, and sank two days later.
In an earlier poll, Gallup said 53 percent of Americans called Obama's efforts in responding to the spill "very poor" or "poor," while 73 percent expressed the same sentiments about BP.
The 47 percent approval rating in the latest Gallup Daily tracking matched the Gallup Daily weekly aggregate for May 31-June 6, the second-lowest average of his administration.
....Both polls have a margin of error of 4 percentage points.

Offering some kind of leadership would have been nice, but too busy with the photo ops.
Has Duncan Hunter addressed the leadership vacuum regarding the Oil Spill?
The Lord is cursing everything Obotulism lays his hands to.
Not being there is not handling it
(A) If a discharge, or a substantial threat of a discharge, of oil or a hazardous substance from a vessel, offshore facility, or onshore facility is of such a size or character as to be a substantial threat to the public health or welfare of the United States (including but not limited to fish, shellfish, wildlife, other natural resources, and the public and private beaches and shorelines of the United States), the President shall direct all Federal, State, and private actions to remove the discharge or to mitigate or prevent the threat of the discharge.
(B) In carrying out this paragraph, the President may, without regard to any other provision of law governing contracting procedures or employment of personnel by the Federal Government
(i) remove or arrange for the removal of the discharge, or mitigate or prevent the substantial threat of the discharge; and
(ii) remove and, if necessary, destroy a vessel discharging, or threatening to discharge, by whatever means are available.
Barry is too concerned about his own a$$ to kick somebody else’s!
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME CATCH, HOODAT!!
I’ve been looking all over this what you’ve just found. I knew it just had to exist.
Thank you!
If Dubya had been in office right now, we’d be well past the thumbs down phase. He’d already have been crucified. Twice!
IMHO "poorly" is too kind.
So 53% are racists?
Just plug the damn hole already, Daddy!!
An active Democrat who supported Obama now is furious how he has mishandled the oil spill. He called the oil spill Obamaâs Waterloo and said it exposed his lack of administrative ability.
Thanks for the good news.
LOL!
“Obotulism”
That’s good.
Well his GULF work has been substandard, but he's really been on top of his GOLF work.
