PHOENIX (AP) - John McCain's re-election campaign is releasing its second set of television and radio ads attacking the Arizona's senator's primary opponent for his ties to Washington.
The ads point out that former U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth registered as a lobbyist in 2008, a year after he lost his re-election bid.
Hayworth is challenging McCain in the Republican primary and casting himself as a conservative Washington outsider. But the ads challenge that image, with a narrator saying: "Outsider? A lobbyist is as inside Washington as it gets."

" We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all."
-- Ronald Reagan, 1965
A whole lot of people have labeled Palin to be the next Ronald Reagan.
Would Reagan have called this guy a moderate? I doubt it. He's a hard core leftist. So much the more clear, if Reagan would have supported this man or not.
Don't insult Ronald Reagan like that.
Sarah Palin has some things right but she is a Populist.
Ronald Reagan was NOT a Populist. Ronald Reagan was a principled conservative. Understand the difference and vote accordingly.
I didn’t.
Cowgirl’s back?! YAY!
John “Keating-Five” McCain has so much integrity.
His first wife wouldn’t say but .....
To 23 - Reagan described himself as a “populist”. (I call your attention to the double quotation marks. You do know what they mean, don’t you?)
“To 23 - Reagan described himself as a populist. (I call your attention to the double quotation marks. You do know what they mean, dont you?)”
Reagan wasn’t a Populist although he was a humble man. He was also a social and fiscal God fearing conservative. You may want to read some of his books ... .
Sarah Palin is the definition of a Populist.
Too bad Juan didn't put as much effort into that campaign.
Just aired on radio in AZ. McCain is getting desperate. He should have held this one for later on.
She is? Where? ;-)
How ya been? Are you still trying to keep folks honest around here? Any luck?
Those links are amazing.
This man has simply GOT to be retired!
Sadly, people have come here, have seen those links, and have defended McCain and those who support him anyway.
I agree with your conclusion. I don’t see how anyone could come to another.
Take care.
No, Rabs has managed to get the McCain/Bush RINO crowd even madder at him than they were the last time you posted. They now think he is a bigger threat than Obama(because only the RINOs can save us from Obama). Some have gone completely insane over his posts.
You missed some wild adventures, that is for sure. Glad you are back, hopefully for a while.
“” To 23 - Reagan described himself as a populist.””
O’RLY?
Funny, I was a big fan of Reagan, and have read several books on him, and never ever heard him call himself a “populist”.
You must have proof. Produce it please.

Good to see you, calcowgirl!
I have been zotted and un-zotted in the same day at least twice.
You also missed this glorious posting by the AM.
Oh, and Cedric finally got the zot. I don't know if you remember him at all.
But I am glad you're back, cowgirl. You have been missed by many here on FR.
Ah, so nothing has changed, huh? SOS.
You missed some wild adventures, that is for sure. Glad you are back, hopefully for a while.
We'll see. I definitely won't be around as much as before. I've been fully enjoying that "offline" world. :-)
Oh... that is so purdy! LOL. Classic. (I wanna meet that mod -- those are some of my favorite posters, too!)
As to Cedric, no loss. And yes, I remember. Some people are unforgettable. ;-)
Nice to see ya! Keep up the good work.
