Yahoo ^ | June 7, 2010 | Lindsay Robertson

The most famous star of the original "The A-Team" TV series is speaking out against the new movie remake. Mr. T, who played B.A. Baracus on the original series, says he was offered a cameo in the new film. However, he turned it down because he says he "knew what was coming" -- a level of violence and sex unacceptable to the actor and, he says, untrue to the original vision of the show...

Interesting take from Mr. T.

I kinda had the same feeling looking at the previews. It might still be a fun action flick, but it doesn't look like it will have the same innocent charm of the old tv show.

Besides, as much as I like Liam Neeson as an actor, he is NOT George Peppard! :-)

“a level of violence and sex unacceptable to the actor and, he says, untrue to the original vision of the show...”

I’ll go with the sex part, but how more violent could it get from the original? Did they upgrade it to 500,000 rounds fired at the A-Team and no one gets hit?

One of the worst television shows ever made. One of the worst actors ever filmed. And he doesn’t want to be in the remake because it might not live up to the original.

True, true, and true again, but he does have a point.

I enjoyed the one where they go to some farmers barn who just happens to have 50 or so giant oxygen cylinders. They build launchers and cut the valves off with an ax.

I wonder how many people died when they tried that at home.

For the sake of the human race, I hope all of them.

Hollyweird is never true to the original show when they make movies.

One of the worst television shows ever made.

Absolutely.

But it was such a train wreck of a show that it became required viewing for my friends and I in high school during the 80’s just to goof on it the following day.

However I always like Mr T.

I always thought the original a team show was stupid. They fire all those rounds and never wound or kill ANYONE?

I wouldn’t say worst in either case, but let’s be honest, it’s not like we’re talking about “Masterpiece Theatre”.

Personally, I liked how they would use corrugated metal roofing for armor, and it would actually stop the rounds from penetrating.

While there was a lot of gunfire on A-Team almost nobody ever got hit and NOBODY ever got killed. I remember them showing people climbing out of a crashed helicopter, they went very far out of their way to always show that everybody was just stunned or knocked out. With nobody getting hurt or killed the show really wasn’t violent.
