It seems to me that BP is going out of its way to keep producing from that well rather than permanently seal it. Maybe our government is in the way, I dunno, but I don’t really think the folks along the coast care how much is captured.

“Earlier this year, before the huge demonstrations in the wake of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s brazen theft of the June presidential election, one popular opposition chant was, “O ba ma!”—in Farsi a play on the new American President’s last name that translates as, ‘He with us!’”

Commenting on the Iranian preference for a Democrat in the White House, Sergei Barseghian, a columnist for the reformist Etemad Meli newspaper noted that in Farsi, the words Oo ba ma would translate as ‘He’s with us.’”

Getting 20,000 barrels from a well that BP said was only leaking 5,000 barrels. Impressive.

I do not see how BP can collect 20,000 bpd because the capacity of the container ship is only a little larger than 15,000 bpd. Perhaps someone can provide some insight about the limitations imposed by the capacity of the containment ship.
