..and when will we hear why they didn't use the Saudi Supertanker suck up deal the day after the fireboats sank that beautiful rig that neglected to design in water shedding channels?

No can do. Regulations prohibit dumping the separated water back into the Gulf.

Oil is vacuumed up with seawater and separated on the ships with the clean water discharged back to the sea. If it has a sheen the fines are huge to the captain of the vessel. Guess it is better to have all that oil in the gulf than have a slight sheen on the excess water that would soon biodegrade,
