Certainly “Robillard” is an Amish name.....
More suspicious Amish activity.
meanwhile real crime continues unabated while the TSA uses tax dollars harassing the flying public and airline employees. If you’re used to carrying, it’s easy to forget you have your firearm with you.
I’ll bet this is much ado about nothing.
Though I might consider a guilty vote.
As if everyone doesn't know this.
I'm acutely aware of the fact when I have a handgun with me.
I cannot imagine "forgetting" that I have Glock in my bag when I walk into an airport, federal building, court house, etc.
Seems to me that some of these folks want to be stopped and detained. At some level these incidents seem like a cry for help.
As a GFL/concealed carry citizen, I MUST maintain acute awareness/control of where my firearm is at all times. For safety’s sakes sure, but primarily because the government ( primarily the FEDERAL gummint) is so ready to find an offense on the part of the owner.
The flight attendant and the pilot were likely no threat to the public, but they MUST know better if they are to carry.
IT ain’t fair, but ya gotta deal within the law.
She deserves the right to defend herself against the muslim savages who are showing themselves more intent upon carrying out airborn terrorist attacks every day. We all do.
Agreed.
Interesting that we both used the word “acute” in our posts to describe our level of awareness.
Yes - good for you. But people make mistakes. I'm sure you've never been wrong about where you put anything in your life, but other people occasionally err. That is why these malum prohibitum laws are so stupid.
oh i dunno. i bet she cleans up rather nice...
Dude — she was busted PRIOR to a 6 AM flight. Let her get to the crew lounge, brush her hair, add a bit of makeup. You get the idea.
I generally look pretty rough prior to 6 AM as well.
I’d give her the benefit of the doubt. PLUS this is likely the first time she’s ever dealt with the criminal justice system up close and personal, and the traumatic emotional effects are likely to manifest in a less-than-glamorous mug shot.
IMHO.
I’m guessing she forgot she had it rather than deliberately carried it to protect herself against terrorists. Anyone with a brain realizes that it’s pretty much impossible to get a firearm past screening
I agree with you in principle. She *should* have been given the opportunity to check the offending item.
It’s just (as you say) that the laws are so strict, one has to be certain of controlling one’s firearm.
I forget the whereabouts of many items throughout the day. But never my firearm.
NET: it was 5 AM +/-. Giver her a break.
Agree
Going by what is there rather than what could be.
I’m from Louisiana, and Robillard is a common name there. You got a problem with that? Delta uses southern based flight attendants.
well, considering the situation, I’d look kinda glum too. I bet if she smiled, she’d be quite -er - pleasant...
If I understand correctly, the lady did nothing more than keep and bear a firearm within the borders of the United States of America.
I stand to be corrected on that point to hear, for instance, that she pointed it at someone or fired it recklessly.
Put me on the jury, and I will acquit on COTUS 2A grounds, in order to nullify any unconstitutional law to the contrary.
What happened to Lou Dobbs wife when she was caught with a gun at an airport? She was about to take a flight.
