Florida Gov. Charlie Crist -- an former Republican -- has hired another Democrat to work on his independent Senate campaign.
Crist brought Josh Isay aboard his campaign to work in his communications shop, according to the USA Today.
Isay formerly worked for one of the top Democrats in the Senate, Charles Schumer (N.Y.)
The Florida governor is running against former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio (R) and Rep. Kendrick Meek (D) in November.
Crist hired Eric Johnson, a former staffer for ex-Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.), to serve as his political director late last month. Crist has been trying to build up his staff since he left the Republican Party and launched an independent bid in late April.
Isay has also worked for politicians who have switched parties; namely New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I) and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), who still caucuses with the Democrats.
Voters in Florida can’t be that crazy.. Could they?
Welcome to a one party system.
He’s better get himself a lawyer. His buddy Greer is taking Crist to jail.
Has anyone learned about “moderate republicans” yet? They take our votes and money and work for the enemy!
Maybe I’m wrong, but something tells me this just isn’t the year to be running as a sour grapes, principle free, turncoat opportunist.
The term useful idiot comes to mind.
Ahhh.... I see the snake has exposed himself, once again.
Sure hope Rubio sends this to every Republican in FL.
He can’t even get a full team to support his campaign. There ain’t no way he doesn’t go down in flames.
If Floridians in Miami/Dade think they are smart, they have alot to learn. Just because Crist is a player isn’t a reason to vote for this man. He is a self-serving politician who should never be given a bus to throw people under.
Makes me kind of wish I was voting in Arizona and not California..
Go JD!
Wonder no more on how the DNC funneling him money !
Paging Crist - I hear Arlen Spector’s campaign staff is available.
We can only hope, not to worry.
Marco will make mincemeat out of all the lib rats they throw his way.
He is devoted to work for the people of Florida, he just hasn't decided who, what, or why as of yet.
What's the big deal?
As long as he is convicted as a politician.
Is 20 years hard labor enough?..
What’s Crist’s quid pro quo for splitting the vote and throwing the election to the Democrat?
Here's one, and he seems to be flying under the national radar screeen:
Help to stop him!
It will be very interesting to see what rationale they try to fed Black Democrats after the Crist campaign craps all over Meek.
