A Michigan lawmaker wants to register reporters to ensure theyre credible and have good moral character.
State Sen. Bruce Patterson is introducing legislation that will regulate reporters much as the state regulates hairdressers, auto mechanics and plumbers. Patterson, who also practices constitutional law, says the general public is being overwhelmed by an increasing number of media outlets -- traditional, online and citizen generated -- and an even greater amount of misinformation.
Legitimate media sources are critically important to our government, he said.
He told FoxNews.com that some reporters covering state politics dont know what theyre talking about and theyre working for publications hes never heard of, so he wants to install a process thatll help him and the general public figure out which reporters to trust.

Would Obama pass the mustard?
Considering the ONE SIDED news with the mainstream media, they should ALL be fired.
There aren’t any journalists anymore, just propagandists.

(R-Canton) Figures he’s a RINO.
They’ll probably set up some deal whereby every “reporter” or “journalist”, media outlet, etc., that ever mentions Michigan has to have the license OR pay a big fine. Just another source of revenue, IMHO.
"Good moral character"? Perhaps they should do that with legislators.
These mediawhores are just as dangerous as a gun.
They go off at the sight of a camera without knowing anything about the issue they are covering. They just read a teleprompter with the WH talking points on it and call that news.

BINGO!
According to who? I'm most certainly not in favor of forcing journalists to register.
Look how well that’s worked for lawyers.

But just think of the time savings!
You check the author, and if you see RJ, you know that you don’t need to read the swill.
So, chances are, it's going nowhere, fast. And as Fox points out:
Patterson conceded that he didnt actually think his bill would be enacted into law. He said hes winding down his two-decade political career and wants to provoke public discussion before he leaves office.
Hey! I got yer discussion right here! "You, sir, are an idiot."
And of course anyone not “fit” to be registered will not be permitted to report. Gee. Now doesn’t THAT just sound great!!! Conservatives, NRA members and other clearly terrible, incompetent, mean-spirited people need not apply, right?

Nor would he pass the catsup....
As for passing the muster...no to that also
