I try very hard not to respond to this crap. I filter out religion for this reason. I saw a Sammy Tippit presentation on Gog and Magog in 1968. How is this news of any kind. It is religious ego. No one will know. I believe the last to know will be the neurotic Gogsters.

Then I would suggest ou stop clicking on religously themed threads. The title of the article:
***Rabbis: Flotilla Clash Heralds Gog and Magog Prophecy***
Gave a very clear indication of what the thread was about!
OMG*..it’s BREAKING NEWS!
*O MaGog!
You are failing rather spectacularly.
Love to stay and talk, but I think most of us are getting ready to leave...
Pinging Quix to this thread...
You can butt out then as we have freedom OF religion on FR.
Well I did defend your initial post but I have to admit that you sound like an intolerant leftist here. You didn’t find it “very hard not to respond”. As one poster pointed out, the title makes it obvious what this subject is about. You’re looking to pick a fight.
I agree with you that it shouldn’t be in Breaking News by any stretch of the imagination but it does merit “news” not simply “religion” as it is a story being covered by the media not simply a religious article. And even beyond that, who decides who the media is? Are you saying Christians and Jews are not able to comment on the events of the day and have to compartmentalize their faith so as not to offend the poor non-religious person who might be exposed to a Bible verse or the word “God”?
Not true. Per 1 Thess 5:2-6 — especially v.4 — believers will not be caught unaware.
2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.
3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief;
5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day We are not of night nor of darkness;
6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.
Don't feel bad about it, though, I grew up in church and I wish I had a dollar for every time someone repeated that line about not being able to know. I don't know who started it, but the Bible doesn't support it.
Jesus himself flat out commanded "keep watch, and pray." What sort of fools errand would he be sending us on if we weren't going to have any way to know?? And what of the parable of the fig tree in Matthew 24? What sense would it make for Jesus to tell a parable about how to tell the time of the end if there'll be no way to tell the time of the end?
Nah, if you are counted among the "brethren" you'll know when to look up.
I find such attitudes
—HORRIFICALLY ILL-INFORMED;
—HORRIFICALLY SHORT-SIGHTED;
—HORRIFICALLY SUICIDAL;
—HORRIFICALLY ARROGANT.
