SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) - Chilean police say Dutchman Joran van der Sloot has been detained ...

Peru has the death penalty.
Yep and the girl had a rich daddy, not looking good for the kid.
Joran is just a younger version of Ted Bundy.
Hopefully he won’t live as long either.
Bummer.
Chile has no death penalty since 2001.
Hope that doesn’t stop them from extraditing him to Peru, which DOES have a death penalty.
One of the world's toughest prisons.
Hope this jackass likes his new home.
Daddy is dead. He is in no position to help young Joran now.
Yes, I believe that I already acknowledged the death of his Dad. I had not known that at the time of my first post.
Yep, I saw that after I posted. This is a wild story.
Believe(?) that the Father of the murdered Peruvian woman was a former high official in Peruvian Automobile Club & had run for Vice President of the country from a fringe party!
GOODBYE Joran (POS)
Mason Dixon
The new victim’s father is well known, that boy will hopefully get the death penalty.
The girl’s father is pretty well known, some sort of race car driver and presidential candidate (twice). I don’t think he’ll get away with it this time.
His Daddy is in Hell.
No human can say that with certainty.
You’ve raised some interesting international law/treaties questions.
Do Peru/Chili have extradition treaties?
What right would the Netherlands have to ask that VanDerSloot be extradited?
Does Peru have a death penalty?
I recall when an Italian citizen who’d emigrated to the US was executed in VA for murder, the then-VA Gov got pleas from the Italian govt and the Vatican to spare his life. In getting other countries to extradite US criminals, we often have to give up any death penalty prosecution.
However, maybe the worse punishment would be life in a Peruvian jail.
Justice! Justice at last!
They probably WILL shoot him. And then the EU will declare all of south america a barbaric place.
People do what they’re good at.
This is almost a good argument for looser rules of
evidence and a more serious application of the law that would circumscribe the movements of people
like Joran vanderSloot.....they wind up going free, in an
“all or nothing” decision which facilitates their apparently
insatiable lust to destroy young women.
And just when Greta was well on the road to reestablishing
her credibility as a political reporter.....I was really getting to like her and appreciate her professionalism.
The NEW Vandersloot case, though, won’t be a nightly affair, like Natalee Holloway’s was.
” The NEW Vandersloot case, though, wont be a nightly affair, like Natalee Holloways was. “
Don’t bet the farm on that - this might be all the excuse she needs to resume her residence on Aruba, in order to do her nightly re-re-re-re-hash of non-information and baseless speculation.. (Probably, again, co-starring Rod
Whatshisname, formerly of the DC Police Department...)
Is worst than Turkish prison
I hear daddy ran for polticial office the murdered girl father did few years ago
