The Dutch man who was the main suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway is being sought in the murder of a woman in Peru, Thaindian News reported Wednesday.

Joran van der Sloot, 22, is suspected of murdering Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez, in Peru. Ramirez's body was found with multiple stab wounds on May 26.

I wonder if he has killed others.

I would wager he has.

It's possible that he has plenty of money, he may have received an inheritance from his dad who died on the tennis courts about half a year ago.

In another thread, there's a quote from MSNBC that reporters have frequently connected him with drug and sex cartels, and if that's true, surely they have unlimited money for his defence?

"I would wager he has."

Time to look into every unsolved murder of young women from the Netherlands during the past 5 years.

“Aruba just didn’t know how to investigate and prosecute.”

I disagree. Joran’s godfather, Jan van der Stratten, was the chief of police in Aruba at the time Natalee disappeared. Joran’s father, Paulus, was an attorney and judge in training at that time.
Aruba covered up for Joran. Evidence turned in would simply disappear. There is just too much evidence of an Aruban cover up to believe otherwise.

The newscasts say (accurately) that the charges against this creep in the Holloway murder were dropped due to lack of evidence ... well, there’s evidence now, isn’t there?

If you’d seen “Locked Up Abroad” on NatGeo channel, you’d know that you DON’T want to spend any time at all, let alone life, in a Peruvian slammer.

Because she probably had no idea of his ‘history’, Peruvians may have never heard his name. Just like we don’t know news stories about every young woman murdered in Peru and the name of the suspects. Probably just thinking he’s a nice young guy who had money and she agreed when he said ‘Let’s go party in my room.’ Unfortunately many people think hotel rooms are safe, esp. high end ones, because there is security and so many people around.

Last night I heard on TV that the parents had never heard of him; they were given his name by the Peruvian police, and they did an Internet search and were SHOCKED and APPALLED to learn that Joran was responsible for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

I take it the poor girl’s parents don’t get Fox News with Greta. She was on that case like white on rice, for months. News tends to be ‘local’ and Natalee was an American, so probably it got zero coverage outside the US, the Caribbean and Holland. So it’s easy to see how the parents wouldn’t have ever heard of him. It’s just so damned tragic. Has Joran’s suicide been confirmed. I’m just getting into this morning’s news .. shortly before noon here.

yes, I should have done a joint reply to you and hennie pennie. (see #54). As the parent of a 20-something daughter, this makes me physically sick, to think your daughter’s gone off with someone to a ‘party’ that ended in her brutal death. This guy should have been behind bars for the last 5 years, or have been long since executed for the Natalee Holloway murder, but he lived to strike again.
