Morris:Obama Doesn't Have A Clue
The Hill ^ | June 1, 2010 | Dick Morris

Posted on 06/02/2010 5:18:16 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

Conservatives are so enraged at Obama’s socialism and radicalism that they are increasingly surprised to learn that he is incompetent as well. The sight of his blithering and blustering while the most massive oil spill in history moves closer to America’s beaches not only reminds one of Bush’s terrible performance during Katrina, but calls to mind Jimmy Carter’s incompetence in the face of the hostage crisis.

America is watching the president alternate between wringing his hands in helplessness and pointing his finger in blame when he should be solving the most pressing environmental problem America has faced in the past 50 years. We are watching generations of environmental protection swept away as marshes, fisheries, vacation spots, recreational beaches, wetlands, hatcheries and sanctuaries fall prey to the oil spill invasion. And, all the while, the president acts like a spectator, interrupting his basketball games only to excoriate BP for its failure to contain the spill.

Who is surprised? What has he ever done to show any amount of competence? I shocked that people are surprised he's over his head. That should have been obvious.

Surprised? Me? Not even close. This fraud’s never had a “real” job in his life.

America is getting what Americans deserve.

Look at yourself. How are YOU addicted to socialism? How did you enable the growth of the beast?

Liberals do what liberals do - talk about their feelings. They are absolutely devoid of any of the critical thinking skills it takes to solve problems in the real world.

You can bet a dollar to a donut that BO will be in front of a camera soon flogging the story about how the DOJ is going to prosecute them. He will claim that to be a solution.

Morris isn't considering other reasons why BO/BS hasn't stopped the oil from flowing.

Bombshell expose'. The real reason the oil still flows into the Gulf of Mexico.

His latest ploy is to prosecute the BP folks as they are trying to fix the problem. That should prove helpful and not at all distracting. [/s]

Incompetence has always been my main beef with Obama. With a radical socialist who is competent, you can always say “Well, at least the trains run on time.”

Seriously, who is surprised?? The sum of Obama's life achievement, as he himself said, was that he ran his presidential campaign!

With the unwavering assistance of the corrupt MSM this "community organizer" was catapulted to the presidency. The guy was a community organizer! Basically, Obama was a flunky on somebody else's payroll, and now he's in charge of our country. Yeah, man this is unexpected, huh? Sheesh.

America is watching the president alternate between wringing his hands in helplessness and pointing his finger in blame when he should be solving the most pressing environmental problem America has faced in the past 50 years.

And his "latest" solution: Send in the lawyers to see if laws were broken.

What would anyone expect from someone who never worked or held a real job. All that he has is a mouth and nothing else.

Irony of ironies, Joe puts his very heavy thumb, and both big toes right on top of a very serious environmental issue here.

Note where he says "......We are watching generations of environmental protection swept away as marshes, fisheries, vacation spots, recreational beaches, wetlands, hatcheries and sanctuaries fall prey to the oil spill invasion....."

He didn't add, but certainly knows, that MOST of that environmental protection is exercised through the adroit use of federal ownership of the land, and federal exercise of its authority over the navigable waters of the United States, and that use includes requirements to get permits and approvals from the federal government, and to file environmental impact statements before doing anything.

That very permitting process and the need for EIS are standing in the way of people on the ground in the impacted areas taking emergency action to protect the marshes, fisheries, vacation spots, recreational beaches, wetlands, hatcheries and sanctuaries.

All of that is being destroyed at the moment in the very name of environmentalism!

Obviously we have some very long term problems here that won't be resolved with the capping of that well offshore. We need a wholesale revision of the whole environmental protection legislation lest it destroy the whole nation and the people in it!

Some good stiff prosecutions of the environmental movement's lobbyists and activists would be in order as well BECAUSE THEY KNEW!

Great analysis by Dick. Some of the comments at the source link are priceless.

This boob has surrounded himself with a bunch of radicals whom don't have any skills or knowledge other than to cause trouble and hate America. The most competent among them are elevated to positions of incompetence.

This administration’s answer to this crisis is to float political balloons about a government takeover of BP, as they did yesterday..

I do not think that Obama's problem, strictly, is a lack of competence rather I think his failings are the inevitable results of his ideology. Leftism dooms him to fail as it fails for the larger society. His personality, his narcissism, compels him to revert to his ideology again and again.

Here is a reply of some months ago before Obama threw his persistence was able to force through Obama care:

I do not think that Obama's problem is exactly an inability to make a decision. Or more precisely put, he cannot make a decision when his Marxist philosophy does not provide him with a ready answer. When he discovers that there are more things on heaven and on earth than are dreamed of by his Marxism, he dithers.

I believe that he is a narcissist and as such is possessed of an extremely nimble and clever mind typical of the breed which permits him to read people and manipulate them. I think that explains both his need to be on stage and his hubristic belief that he can charm foreign leaders the way he has bamboozled everyone at home. It worked at Harvard, it worked with George Soros, it worked on the campaign trail. That nimbleness of mind extends to human psychology but not to events on the ground. He copes with terrestrial reality by resort to his Marxism. He manipulates people by resort to his social pathology.

When his Marxism proves unavailing, as for example in the real world of realpolitik, he has no plan B so he obdurately persists in his Marxism and redoubles his efforts to charm. We see this time and again in his excellent foreign adventures. The same pattern can be seen domestically, especially with the repeated frustrations with healthcare reform and his repeated efforts over the summer to sell it.

This suggests a dichotomy of personality: a quick and nimble mind evolved to manipulate people on the one hand and inflexibility and want of imagination in worldview on the other. Sammy Glick meets Vladimir Lenin one day and Hamlet the next.
