Goodrich Corp. was selected to provide the Saudi Arabia air force with flight controls upgrades on the fleet of F-15 Eagle fighter aircraft.
Goodrich says its California-based Aerostructures unit will deliver its Grid-Lock flight controls surfaces including ailerons, flaps and wingtips among other technologies for integration with the Saudi F-15s.
The Saudi Arabian air force selected Goodrich following the company's success F-15 retrofit with aircraft in the United States, Japan, South Korea and Singapore.
"The Saudi Arabian air force recognized the improved life-cycle costs that the U.S. Air Force is realizing on its flight control surfaces as a result of this innovative technology," Goodrich Aerostructures President Marc Duvall said in a statement.
The Goodrich Grid-Lock components are expected to be integrated with more than 150 of the Saudi fleet of F-15 fighter aircraft.
