In the crowded Republican field, former two-year college chancellor Bradley Byrne, Greenville developer Tim James and Tuscaloosa physician Robert Bentley are tied at 26 percent each. Former Chief Justice Roy Moore is polling 20 percent.

That guy with the great commercial running for Agriculture Commissioner lost. Dale Peterson.

Parker Griffith was apparently defeated and won’t even make the runoff, losing to Mo Brooks, who got about 51% (to Griffith’s 33%).

I am hoping for Bentley. Right now there is a 3 way race, very tight. Bentley is the most conservative.

Ha!

This ought to make some of the Anti-Palin heads explode around here.

Sarah was directly responsible for Susana winning the nomination with her endorsement.

Not surprised to see the result on the Democratic side of the governor’s race. It’s Alabama....

Will Artur Davis publicly denounce the AL Democrats as racist ? Yeah, right...

Davis didn’t earn the support of the black civil rights political arm in Alabama, they endorsed Sparks. Davis wanted to take his campaign directly to the black and white voters without currying their favor.

Sparks ran an ad criticizing Davis for being the only Democrat to vote against the Obama health care plan.

It’s remarkable that Sparks, the White guy, ran to the left of the Black guy... The media will “dismiss” any racist charges in AL by saying Davis was “too Conservative” for Dem primary voters.

Governor (GOP) - 95% reporting

1. R. Bentley . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 121,863 5. R. Moore . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 94,318
2. B. Byrne . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 135,482 6. J. Potts . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1,505
3. T. James . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 122,033 7. C. Taylor . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2,532
4. B. Johnson . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 8,053

About 150 votes separate 2nd and 3rd place. Only one will make the runoff.

On the negative side, the Dim nomination is done, so Sparks will immediately start trashing the GOP guys. The GOP nomination will be decided in a runoff in six? weeks. Meaning much of the GOP will also be trashing the GOP nominee until then.

Bentley is bought and paid for by Paul Hubbert just like Tim James. Bentley hasn’t even come up with a position on charter schools. Byrne on the other hand has been leading the fight against Hubbert and his goons in this state for a long time.

The choice is simple. If you want Paul Hubbert to continue running Alabama vote against Bradley Byrne in the runoff. If you don’t want Paul Hubbert to continue running Alabama you know what you have to do.

I’ve heard good things about Robert Bentley. As for Bradley Byrne, when reviews have been mixed.

Maybe some did not appreciate another Harvard grad who held an out of state fundraisers on Martha’s Vineyard. Secondly, he was not endorsed by the black polictical endorsers. The white guy, Sparks, was. You know the socialist blacks vote how they are told. The conservative blacks would not vote for him anyway. Alabama has an abundance of conservative blacks too.
