I heard that Hatoyama kicked out liberal nutjob Fukushima, the head of Socialist Party, and the ruling coalition is breaking up.
Anyhow, his two major campaign promises, relocation of U.S. base and warmer relationship with N. Korea and China are now dead. Naturally, his credibility is called into question.

Warmer relations with NK and China?! He’s Japan’s enemy within.

Well, speaking of which, one of the conspiracy theories making a round on S. Korean Internet and the leftie circle is that U.S. engineered this event to pull Japan back to its fold and let U.S. keep their base in Okinawa.
They are spending another day offering another lunatic conspiracy theory. Somebody has to make a list of them. Should make a fun book someday.

You’re telling me that an extreme lefty head of a state who promised unicorns and rainbows was not able to deliver and had to resign?
I envy Japan.
To: John W
My first reaction was that this guy was kind of a nut job. Just as well that he is resigning.
But also, I’m kind of worried. All of the alliances we have built up over the years are falling apart. There are potential crises building up just about everywhere around the world, and this could get serious.
It’s not militaristic American presidents who start wars. It’s idiots who don’t know what the hell they’re doing.
And who do the Japanese now vote for? Do they go back to the old ruling party, which was also getting pretty tired?

"U.S. engineered this event " If only this Administration could pull something like that off. These guys couldn't engineer a shift change at their local Dairy Queen.

Ha...the Japanese should have gotten a clue when our pacifist Prez couldn't close Guantanamo or pull our troops out of Iraq.
These girlie-leaders are so transparantly loopy.

So, ruling against the will of the people is tough in Japan, too?

Oh my. I don’t think DPJ has a viable replacement. If LDP did not tear itself apart, they could have made a strong comeback.

It seems to me the Japanese are being just a bit rash, considering the precarious situation west of them in the Korean peninsula. They might not be in such a rush to get rid of out base on Okinawa... But hey, I would be HAPPY if they started footing their own bill and carrying their own weight in that part of the world militarily.
It’s PAST time that Japan rejoin responsible FREE nations in gaurding liberty and standing gaurd for freedom against the likes of Communist China, their pets the Norkies, and the other Communist species in the region, the Vietnamese. Not to mention the Islamofascists in parts of the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.
We’re ready for you to help us bear this burden Japan — THANK YOU for being our FRIEND! :-D
