I've just finished watching HOURS of live video taken a mile under the Gulf of Mexico. Amazing drama, right up there with the Moon programs, Apollo 13 stuff, of B.P.'s efforts to capture the gusher of oil now flowing. All was proceeding to plan, and in spite of HUGE OBSTACLES, the final steps were being taken to prepare for a "CAP" that would hopefully collect most of the oil gushing from the well, diverting it to ships on the surface. This wasn't the ultimate fix, it was just the best hope of minimizing the leak for the next six to eight weeks until two Relief Wells are finished.
Then the President had to open his mouth to make political hay out of the disaster. Criminal charges have been threatened, "we will no longer sit at the table alongside B.P.," etc. HE JUST THROUGH B.P. UNDER THE BUS with his Grand Mother, and with it any hope we had of this disaster being brought under control any time soon dispersed into the black water.
Because on hearing Obama, and seeing they had nothing to gain and only more to loose, (All the fixes held potential risks) B.P. pulled the plug on all interim measures underway.
The next picture of a dead Dolphin or oil soaked bird you look at, think of our Presidents face.

NP has a strong interest in capturing the oil shooting out.
Bush would have brought in the Navy by now.

I edited out similar comments in my post, not because I didn’t feel that way, but because I felt it took something away from the fact that we all have been screwed by the President of the United States.
BP is still going to go through with putting the cap on the riser. Nothing has changed.

If they are cutting into the main pipe WHY is there NO oil coming out of the cut?
BP is doing things that incur risk, to themselves and to the Gulf.
Once Der Fuhrer said that he viewed them as being criminal they certainly SHOULD stop taking on any more risk.
I sure their Legal Team told them that even though working to help stop the flow was a noble thing to do but they are giving the Court more things to charge them with if the experimental efforts do not fully pay off.

They had a Twenty-Three Ton shear in position ready to make the cut they’re now working on with a drill. When Obama made his statements, they pulled it up to the surface.

Are you sure that BP is doing nothing except drill a relief well? That does not sound consistent with what FNC has been saying.
The main riser pipe is 21 inches in diameter and has two fluid pipes running on either side. It is bent over and leaking at the Blow Out Preventor ,(BOP), and runs out from the well over the ocean bottom. They spent most of yesterday and all through the night preparing to cut through the pipe about 75 feet from the BOP to relieve its weight and to cut off the part as it exited the BOP so they could install the containment cap. The Shears they were positioning to cut the horizontal pipe weighed 23-1/2 tons and was the size of a large truck. They had prepped and installed a Diamond Wire Drill on the top of the BOP to remove the pipe there once the extra pipe was sheared off and the remaining end supported. This stuff is huge and it took hours of watching for me to get past the “just call NASA” feelings.

BP has the technology and resources to get this done the sissies in DC need to back off and let this get solved by Men.
It’s hard to tell what’s going on except Obama is continuing to destroy America. Maybe BP is helping. You know when some guys have you by the you know what to make them personally wealthy or more wealthy; it’s usually the cowards road they take.
What you’re watching is them cutting away the “small” fluid pipes that run along the side of the main drill casing. Those small pipes are probably 6” with a 1” wall thickness. My guess is that the saw has a 24” diameter.
After they pulled up the ROVs and the Shear, I saw several reports that they had stopped all measures except the relief wells. I pray those reports were wrong. I hope that the work they are now doing is to further prepare for the big “cuts” but I have to believe unless something has changed they will do no more than prepare.
Criminal charges? I thought, boy if it is me, anything I do could be used against me in a court of law.
I really would have to consider pulling out. Let the government handle it, obviously they don’t want me there. They got it.
First of all, Obama's Grand Mother was a Red Communist party member most of her adult life. She was expendable for the sake of The Anointed One's election. Second, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about the steps BP is currently undertaking because of what some know-it-all watching the deep sea live feed is saying. Third, the past-tense of throw is threw, not through. If your going to misplace words, don't do it with capital letters. It only brings it to people's attention much faster.
