RJC: We Stand With Israel [Republican Jewish Coalition]
Republican Jewish Coalition ^ | June 1, 2010 | RJC Press Office

Washington, D. C. (June 1, 2010) -- The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) today affirmed its solidarity with Israel in the aftermath of violence provoked in the misnamed "Free Gaza" flotilla.

RJC Executive Director Matthew Brooks said:

Today, Israel is under assault from enemies near and far. The pretext for the assault: acts of self-defense undertaken by courageous Israeli naval personnel. The purpose of the IDF's acts: enforcing the lawful embargo established by Israel and Egypt against the Hamas belligerents who wage war against Israel from their base in the Gaza Strip.

Of course, the violence would not have occurred if those aboard the vessel coming from Turkey were what they said they were - non-violent peace activists. Unfortunately, the consequences of that lie were quite bloody, but it's unacceptable to blame the IDF for responding in kind to violent attacks.

Unfortunately, some of the most intemperate attacks on Israel have been coming from senior United Nations officials, and more moves to condemn Israel in the UN Security Council are expected. We urge the Obama administration to make it clear that it will veto any condemnation of Israel's actions in this matter in the UN Secrity Council.

The President tells us he is a reliable friend of Israel. At a moment like this, a friend's responsibility is clear. This is no time to make demands of Israel. At a moment like this, a true friend stands with Israel.

I got this in my inbox this AM. The RJC has been doing an outstanding job in informing Jews of the real issues, (not just Israel,) that face them with this administration and democrats in general. My chapter has been having great seminars with knowledgeable guest speakers. I wish more people would join up, even if they never go to a meeting. Stay informed...and stay Conservative.

Ping!!!

Hopefully, Republican senators and congressmen will follow the lead of the RJC and issue statements that they unequivocally support Israel's response in yesterday's incident.

Jews still voting for democRATS...

That's a subject that we've kicked around frequently here on FR, but part of the answer is that many of these Jewish 'Rats don't give much of a hoot about Israel.

The RJC, though, has been around since the Reagan era and is steadily growing in membership. We foresee a gradual movement of Jews away from the 'Rats, accelerated by the growing unpopularity of "Osama" Obama.

Never understood that one.

It really isnt that difficult. Most of the Jews came to the USA in the late 1800's early 1900's. Why? Because after a thousand years of persecution and pogroms of Europe, they decided to try the USA. Thousands and in some cases hundred's of thousands were slaughtered in these pogroms. (As in the case of the Cossacks)

In the 1800's a new "enlightened" form of Judaism arose. Reform Judaism. The majority of these new immigrants embraced this new form of Judaism, in part, IMHO, to avoid being persecuted by their new hosts. Reform Judaism does not require the strict observance of the Mitzvot (commandments), so they started like their hosts to eat pork and shellfish, not observe the sabbath and began intermarriage.

All the while, still stressing social justice. So, like any liberal religion, the government became the the new arbiter of justice, not G-d. Look at the World Council of Churches. Same thing. Anytime G-d is pushed out the vacuum is replaced by man-humanism. When G-d is replaced by government, freedom is replaced by tyranny. The Jew does have a powerful mind which can be used for great good or great evil. The Jewish soul needs the guidance of Torah and the obedience to HaShem to bring about true tikkun olam, repair of the world.

That is why they vote democrat. Previous persecution, liberalized religion to "fit in" and not be so "different" and thereby replacing G-d with government to bring about "social justice".

Unfortunately, there are Orthodox Jews out there also--and I mean Charedim, not the so-called "Modern Orthodox"--to whom government assistance is more important than the status of the universal Noachide laws. Also, it seems to me that many, many US Jews of all "branches" of Judaism simply do not vote their religion. As far as they are concerned, the "enlightenment" gives them their freedom to observe mitzvot and they are always going to vote for the "enlightenment." The Noachide Laws await Mashiach. Until then, all that matters is secularism and the "enlightenment." So I suppose HaShem is has temporarily abdicated His Kingship of the world and everyone and everything in it???

I'm trying to figure out why people who "can't force [their] religious views on the general public" justify forcing their liberalism on them.
