Arraignment today for teen in Yule killing
Trial date scheduled in Salvation Army murder
JOHN LYNCH
ARDEMGAZ
The teenager accused of gunning down a Salvation Army officer on Christmas Eve makes his first appearance today in Pulaski County Circuit Court to answer capital murder and aggravated robbery charges.
Laquan Javaris Fitzpatrick, 19, who has addresses in Little Rock and Helena-West Helena, is to appear before Circuit Judge Barry Sims at 1:30 p.m. for arraignment on charges that carry the death penalty. The judge will also set trial dates for Fitzpatrick.
Accused of killing Salvation Army Maj. Philip Wise on Dec. 24 in front of the mans three children, Fitzpatrick is also charged with aggravated robbery and theft, accused of robbing a Radio Shack at gunpoint on Nov. 28.
Hes been held without bail since his March 16 arrest in Helena-West Helena, where police report he told them he robbed the Radio Shack on Pike Avenue in North Little Rock with two other men and got away with $1,700.
Eleven days before the holdup, Bryon Bullock, the Radio Shack employee who was robbed, was the victim of a burglary at his North Little Rock apartment, where thieves kicked in his front door and stole a TV, computer and video game console. Court records show Fitzpatrick has admitted to that Nov. 17 burglary, saying he was with two other men, but no charges have been filed in that case.
The names of suspected accomplices have not been released, but authorities say it was Fitzpatrick and Brandon Leavy who ambushed Wise, 40, at the Salvation Army community center on West 18th Street while his wife was inside. Wises children were outside with their father at the time of the shooting.

I like the way Dean Martin said it in one of his westerns, ROUGH NIGHT IN JERICO... “We’ll hang him tomorrow right after the trial.”
Malcolm “X”-mas, maybe.
2 months for arraignment...itll be 20 yrs before ‘justice’ is served...if ever...
