FORT HOOD, Texas The Army psychiatrist accused of opening fire at Fort Hood, killing 13 and wounding dozens more, was to make his first military courtroom appearance Tuesday as his attorney seeks to delay the case. Neither Maj. Nidal Hasan nor any witnesses were expected to speak during the hearing, at which military prosecutors and defense attorneys planned to discuss case preparations and other basic matters. Defense attorney John Galligan said he would seek to delay Hasan's Article 32 hearing, which is similar to a civilian grand jury proceeding in which a judge hears witness testimony to determine whether the case should go to trial. No date has been set, but authorities have said the trial could be held as early as July 1. Galligan said the Article 32 hearing should not proceed before Oct. 1 because he still needs key documents, including some of Hasan's military records, FBI files on Hasan's alleged contact with a radical Islamic cleric in Yemen months before the shooting, and some government reviews of the shooting rampage. |

“Suspect.” Societal suicide in one word.
Suspect’, uh-huh. Leave it to the MSM-AP to paint these mooslum scum as a victim.
Skip the court, throw him into an active volcano. Next!
Well, they can’t jump to conclusions. We don’t know he really shot all those people. It could have been space aliens, who killed the alleged victims and then reprogrammed everyone’s memories.
a guy that flipped out...and was nuts at the time of the crime....
Maybe we should just pay him reparations now.
“throw him into an active volcano”
There’s a big hole in Guatemala...
NO!
Much to easy and much to fast.
Simply place him in a bed, close the door on the way out, and remove the corpse in a month or so.
If only he was shot dead.
Why did no one jump on a table, cry “Die, You Islamic Bastard” and plug him?
Because there are still far too many Americans who cannot accept the fact that we are in a war, and treat it as such.
Wars aren't won in courtrooms full of lawyers.
This man is a traitor. An enemy combatant. He switched sides, if he ever was on our side.
He should have simply been shot at the first opportunity.
Every politically correct enabler from the top down should be relieved of duty.
As an added indignity, I hope he was in leg shackles for the appearance....
FORT HOOD (June 1, 2010)-The judge has granted a defense motion to delay the beginning of Army Maj. Nidal M. Hasan’s Article 32 hearing.
The entire proceeding lasted 30 minutes.
The judge said witness testimony in the hearing is scheduled to begin Oct. 4.
An Article 32 hearing is the military equivalent to a civilian grand jury proceeding in which a judge hears witness testimony to determine whether the case should go to trial.
Security at Fort Hood was extra tight Tuesday, surrounding the courthouse on post where Hasan, who is accused of gunning down 13 people in the Nov. 5 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, was expected in attendance for a pre-trial hearing.
Hasans civilian defense attorney, John Galligan, arrived at the courthouse just after 7 a.m. Tuesday; the hearing is expected to begin at 10 a.m.
A small group of reporters will be allowed inside the courtroom but no video will be taken and no witnesses are expected to take the stand.
Army officials say Hasan is expected to be in the courtroom but is not expected to make any statements.
Military prosecutors and defense attorneys instead plan to discuss case preparations.
Galligan says he will seek to delay Hasan’s Article 32 hearing, the military equivalent to a civilian grand jury proceeding in which a judge hears witness testimony to determine whether the case should go to trial.
Authorities have said the hearing could be held as early as July 1 but Galligan argues that the hearing shouldn’t go on before Oct. 1 because he still needs key case documents.

LOL - exactly!
As long as it has fire at the bottom, or stakes or something equally unpleasant...
